Ironton Trivia

Post by kantuckyII »

First, is Nazor's Studio still open?

Secondly...where was JC Penny's...in Ironton, originally located at?

Nope! this is Ironton! leaf burning has been outlawed in the city back around WW2 or earlier after almost a whole city block went up in flames as a result of a run away leaf burning..seriously.

Is this Anderson's Pizza Pub? I think there was also a liquor store there on the corner if I am thinking correctly and on the other side of liquor store was the old KofC building.

I think JcPenney was located in the current city building. I remember going up the 3rd floor to visit Santa and Toyland.

That is Anderson's Pizza, going up in flames but the Penny's?

hmmmmmmmm now, you have me wondering..how many locations it was in before it was on 3rd and Vernon. It was also located on another location on 3rd Street before that though..that is the one I was asking for

Andersons had pretty good Pizza.

That's the only place I can remember Penny's being. I remember thinking Toyland was the greatest thing back then.

The fire that burned the Knights building down was 1996 if I remember right.

The current city building was home of Goldcamp's- prior to becoming Penney's.

Of course... Henry Steele knows that J.C. had another location on South Third. I have seen the postcard with the sign on the building.

What's awesome, at your age, is that you can go to Wal-mart now and get your Depends and don't have to worry about soaking!

Is that Park Ave going to the left?

That store on the corner is that where Allyns Jewlry was and where Toro Loco is now?

I don't remember Pennys being there, when did it move from there to where it was when it closed down?
