Maryland Renames Football Stadium

The University of Maryland has decided to rename their football stadium from Harry C Byrd Stadium to simply Maryland Stadium. The reason is that Byrd is now considered to be unworthy as he held segregationist views as coach and administrator at UMD. Not that this is sport news worthy in terms of on field competition, it is interesting that political correctness has spread to all facets of American life. Is this a good and necessary social trend or is it simply people with new found influence trying to impose their views and interpretation of history?

Political Correctness is trying to Erase Historical events.... They dont say anything about the Holocost and issues with Hitler... Its first the Redskins..... then the Confederate Flag... now Stadiums named after people.

As for the Redskins issue... they need to look at other team names that represent worse situations... Hence... Minnesota "Vikings" The Vikings pillaged and destroyed towns... they Terrorized women and Children in the past as well... But nobody says a word about that.

Other possible offensive names... Braves, Indians, Seminoles, Utes...
