Excellent Observation.

Heisman winners are good college players that often don't make it in the pros.Valenth wrote:Seems like a majority of Heisman winners as of lately havent done too well NFL-Wise.... Thoughts?

Just like some outstanding HS players can't compete at the college level, so be it for college to pro level.

Well it's an award for the best QB or RB on a top 10 team. Not the best player or MVP in college football

Manziel is getting better with more experience and playing time, but will be seriously challenged in the coming weeks.

I'm neutral on this topic. Some high school players never get a look but walk on in college and do well. I thinks some of it is getting the chance, rather it be pro or college.Gopher wrote:Just like some outstanding HS players can't compete at the college level, so be it for college to pro level.

They don't do well historically in the bowl game immediately following their win.
May you live in interesting times- ancient Chinese curse

That is true.... Its almost like they didnt leave the Heisman party realm and never showed up to the Bowl Game... guess they figured they had nothing else to prove.dazed&confused wrote:They don't do well historically in the bowl game immediately following their win.

The dumbest award in sports. They should have done away with it when Gino won the award over Marshall Faulk in 1992. It's not the best player or MVP award.

Voting is done by regions and some of these people who get to vote is a joke.
Plus you do not want to upset some of these jokers.
Some of these people are like Mark May. If he had a vote he would be for the guy that sit on the edge for Pittsburgh.
