Coming off an efficient 12-8 season in 2018, OSU heads into 2019 with high hopes. They will kick things off with exhibitions against Ohio (8/17) and Michigan (8/25). That's all before they kick off the regular season on 8/30 against UMass in Columbus.

While Whitney Harris, Sina Schwinn, Nikki Trzaska and Leanne Bough scored 1 goal each. Aaliyah Hernandez needed only 3 saves on the night to record the shutout.

The lone goal for the Buckeyes was sandwiched between the four goals from Northwestern. Mackenzie Allessie scored her 6th goal of the season in the 24th minute, and was unassisted.

The second best team in the country, Maryland (14-2), basically took the Buckeyes (6-8) out to the woodshed on Sunday in Columbus, winning 6-3. OSU actually scored the first two goals in the game, scoring at the 5 minute mark, and scoring in the 15th minute. The Terrapins then put one on goal in the 32nd minute, before the Buckeyes struck right back to score in the 33rd minute.

At that point, the Buckeyes were sitting really pretty. But, Maryland then scored the next 5 goals, unanswered to take the victory, and avoid upset-minded OSU.

Next up, Ohio State will play at Penn State on Friday, and at Kent State on Sunday.

Of the 9 teams in the Big Ten that play field hockey, only 7 earn a spot in the conference tournament. The Buckeyes earned the #7 seed for the tournament, and will play #2 seed Iowa on Thursday at 2pm in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

OSU will try to avenge their loss from earlier in the season to Iowa, when they lost 2-1.
