As high school and college spring sports are starting to wind down, the traditional college football magazines are gearing up with their college football predictions for the 2019 season. Here is Athlon 's:
The 2019 college football season officially begins on Saturday, Aug. 24, but it's never too early to start thinking about what might transpire this fall. Each FBS season brings plenty of surprises, disappointments and unexpected teams emerging in the national title picture. However, two teams - Clemson and Alabama - are a step ahead of the rest of the college football world and are poised for a rematch in the national championship game.
Alabama is Athlon's projected national champion, with Clemson at No. 2, followed by Georgia and Michigan in the top four. Ohio State, Oklahoma and LSU headline the next trio of teams, with Florida, Notre Dame and Texas A&M rounding out the projected top 10. The 2019 season concludes with the national championship on Jan. 13 in New Orleans, La., in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
An important note on Athlon's top 25 for 2019: This is not a preseason ranking of teams going into the season. Instead, this ranking takes into account where we project teams to finish after the national championship in January. Here are Athlon's projected top 25 teams in college football for 2019 (excerpt):

Not sure why these analyst drink the scUM juice every year.
Its literally the same thing- they play well all year under Hairball and then they cant beat OSU. No B1G Championship game, not playoffs. Yet they rank them high every year.
Patterson is a very average QB. Their defense lost A LOT from last season.
62-39.
The Revenge Tour is over.
As for the rest of the rankings I think they look good. SEC/B1G/Clemson shown lots of love and that is the way its shook out the past several years.

Michigan could be a solid ten win or better team since they get Notre Dame and Ohio State at home and given the Buckeyes are an unknown quantity. Yet Bleeding Red is correct that the Wolverines have not reached elite status under Harbaugh. For 2019 though the BIG10 was shown some love with Penn State, Sparty, Iowa, Wisky, and Nebraska all receiving top 25 mention.

7 top 25 teams are from the big ten if I counted correctly. with the majority being from ohio state's division. I'm kinda miffed about the Michigan ranking as well. with the bucks only losing 1 time last year. and just absolutely trucking the wolverines last year something like 62-39. and a convincing bowl win over the Washington huskies. but we lost a lot and have a new coach. as well as a new qb.

plus Michigan had a higher rated signing class, but the bottom line is they have not made the bcs final 4 or beaten ohio state in like 8 years.
