Gents. The BIG10 Commish pleaded and made a bold statement to the CFP Committee. Saying conference titles and strength of schedule have to be valued. I could not agree more. Look at Alabama schedule. They don’t play anybody till almost November.

Players playing with a high level of of intensity and speed. I do like we are not even being considered as play-off contender. I have always found it easier to play as the underdog. And gosh dang it I hope they come out with a chip on their shoulder with the attitude of proving the world wrong.
me too county, us against the world personna.

I talked to jim harbaugh's mommy one time. and she told me we couldn't even let little jimmy play in the sandbox when he was little. because the cat's kept covering him up.

this guy is a joke prodding urban. I think he's a good coach, everyone knows that. but poking the bear that beat you all 7 times they played you. well ummmmmmmmmmm nuff said.

Jimmy has plenty of controversy. It's based on how he cant win.

Maybe he should be more like Urban.

Agreed. I don’t want to get too cocky over his record against the bucks. But ooooooo how even sweeter it be now if a first year head coach of the bucks not only beat him. But beat him on his own turf !!!!

If you watch ESPN/SEC network the SEC gets praised for beating FCS teams. They also grill a team like OSU for having a competitive game against a Power 5 team like Indiana.

If you watch B1G or Pac12 networks, or Fox, they see right through the SEC schedule.

It's like liberal news (CNN) vs Fox news. It makes sense that ESPN is a very liberal station when you think about it. Total junk TV.

There’s the words again Red. ESPN/SEC Network. And again. It’s easy for us to see and rid the problem. Until the CFP Committee quits weighing in ESPN thoughts and opinions aonheavy we are on the short end of this stick. Hopefully the BIG10 commish stress of acknowledging conference titles and strength of schedule Get the attention they so deserve. I’m a bigger fan of the latter of the two.

Who televises the weekly CFP Committee rankings? ESPN
Who televises the season finale CFP Committee rankings? ESPN
Who televises the CFP Playoffs and NC games? ESPN

The CFP Committee knows where their financial interests lies.

Fox/Fox Sports should have taken this away from ESPN when ESPN was financially hurting 2 years ago.

Data points:

Until every conference plays 9 conference games each season, the system is flawed.

Until every conference eliminates FCS schools on the schedules, the system is flawed.

Right now it is a totally flawed system. Both structurally and financially.

ESPN knows that as long as they hold these cards, they will continue to push where their financial interest is (ACC/SEC). Those 2 conferences also have the best broadcast deals with ESPN and obviously ESPN is financially involved in their conference TV network.

I thought Fox would make a push at this 2 years ago when ESPN was laying off people left and right. That didnt happen so here we are.

Its no wonder that ESPN LOVES the current CFP system because they are holding the strings that make the puppets move.

Fox/Fox sports make no bones about the fact they want expansion and an equal playing field (# of conference games and no FCS schools on the schedule).

I think in the next few years, as FOX grows their college football coverage even more, they will make a push for the CFP system coverage.

That is when we will see change. But not until the NCAA CFP has another cash cow to foot the bill. Until then, the CFP system and committee is the cash cow for ESPN.

And like anything, money taints amateur sports, just like it has with some of these selections over the inception of the CFP structure (including OSU going in over PSU several years ago). Just saying that so I dont sound like a homer.

No way are you sounding like a homer. I’m glad finally someone agrees with me and Red quite frankly that’s honestly the best thing I have read about the CFP and it’s committee. Which leads me back to my questions of how in the world the NCAA allows this to happen with as many rules and regulations a program has to abide by that something of this magnitude can skid by. but a kid getting a meal bought for him , his parents needing a flight to a game , or a single parent needing the rent paid will grant you and the school a dose of sanctions to cripple you. Truly mind boggling.

Well men. It’s getting time. Every network has re run games from the 80s onto the latest bowl season. Great stuff. Fun to see how schemes of changed. And mercy the hitting. You played anywhere before the last 5-10yrs you played in era where football was knock your teeth out. Not saying big time hits don’t happen nowadays cause they most certainly do. But gosh the ones prior to defenseless player crack backs head shots so forth would bring ya off the couch when you saw it. How fun the game was. Anyways. Getting to what I was gonna day about watching last years rose bowl game between bucks n Washington. Yes urban went out a winner. But dang I forgot how close we came to getting beat. Antother 3:00of football we may have. We just looked like at the end of the game it showed we just didn’t want to be there and was playing not to lose as the huskies were playing to win. Still got the dub and Meyer out a winner

Anxious to get going.
