In D3 women's swimming and diving, who else? Emory has claimed the national title with 488 points, their 10th consecutive national title, and 12th in program history. They just barely edged out Kenyon, who scored 479 points. Other than Emory and Kenyon, only Denison has won a national title in this event since 1983.

Baylor won the national title in D1 women's basketball on Sunday. The Bears were one of the #1 seeds in the tournament, and they defeated another #1 seed in Notre Dame for the title, 82-81. Baylor trailed by 1 with 16 seconds left, and held the ball until Chloe Jackson drove the lane and hit a lay-up with 3.9 seconds left, Baylor took the lead, and the rest is history, what a game!! This marked the third consecutive year that UConn did NOT make it to the national championship game, their longest stretch without an appearance since 2006-2008.

For Baylor, it was their third national title in program history, and their first since 2012. Their path to the title looked like this:

vs. Abilene Christian - W 95-38
vs. California - W 102-63
vs. South Carolina - W 93-68
vs. Iowa - W 85-53
vs. Oregon W 72-67
vs. Notre Dame - W 82-81

It was a game where both teams were looking for their first ever national title....Texas Tech vs. Virginia, for the 2019 D1 men's basketball national championship. Virginia held the lead for the majority of the game, at times it looked like they would pull away, but the Red Raiders held in there. When it came to winning time, Texas Tech really showed up in this one, and forced the game to go into overtime, the first title game to go into overtime since 2008. But the Cavaliers were too much for the Red Raiders in the bonus period, as they won 85-77 to secure their first title in program history.

Here was their path to the title:

vs. Gardner Webb - W 71-56
vs. Oklahoma - W 63-51
vs. Oregon - W 53-49
vs. Purdue - W 80-75
vs. Auburn - W 63-62
vs. Texas Tech - W 85-77

Stephen F Austin had plans on Saturday that contradicted what #1 Vanderbilt wanted to, which was a repeat back-to-back national championships. Although SFA entered the competition as not even being ranked one of the top 2 seeds, they came out with a national title in dominant form defeating Vanderbilt 4-1. It wasn't an easy road for Vanderbilt, as the #1 overall seed lost their first match in bracket play, but then regained their footing and cruised all the way to the title match.

For SFA, they never gave up ground, defeating Sam Houston State in the first round, #2 McKendree in the second round, Maryland Eastern Shore in the semifinal, and then eventually dominating Vanderbilt in the title series.

For Stephen F Austin, it was their 2nd title in program history, with their first coming in 2016.
