Re: WEEK 3 ARMY @ OHIO STATE. WHAT SAY YA'LL.
So far the passing game has been putting more lipstick on the pig. Barrett and his stat padding throws that go no further than 6 yds from the lone of scrimmage and can't get the ball even close to a receiver on a deep ball.
It's sad when the WR is tackled while the ball is in the air but no penalty because it's THAT UNCATCHABLE.
This sh!t show offense will never hold up against good defenses. And don't say "well Army has a top 20 defense" because they don't play very many good offenses.

Well, there was nothing wrong with that arm. That was a rocket for the TD, Bucks up 31-7.
He hasn't been accurate this game but that throw was the old JT.

Sure didn't get to see much of the second team QB.
JT Barret was 25 -33 for 270 and 2 TD. Which seems good but still some passes not even close. No Int's was good. At least they only ran JT 7 times. Should have given Webber more than 4 carries.
Army ran well but just didn't have it when it got down by 2 TD's. As the Buckeye's took over more.

38-7. Observations:
Credit Army for playing with discipline, toughness, and quickness. They are well coached and play with passion. Despite trailing at half, the Cadets outplayed the Bucks by controlling the offensive line of scrimmage.
Barrett had decent numbers but the same issues persist with downfield passing. He just takes too long to read the field and let the ball fly. Conversely Haskins' quick release and crisp ball made the Buckeye receivers look good. The game did nothing but fuel OSU's quarterback controversy.
Dobbins is the real deal. Weber had lost his starting job. Burrow, our favorite son, may never again take a meaningful snap for the Bucks.
The defense looked undisciplined in the first half but did better in the second. State's defense may have found leaders in Eric Smith and Tuff Borland.
Conclusion is that State still has a long way to go to contend for the BIG championship. The athleticism is there. The team has to find chemistry. Maybe Haskins is the answer.

JT Barrett is the QB unless he gets hurt. Haskins is the QB of the future which starts next year.
All these QB's coming in, it's crazy!! As much as I hate it Burrows looks to be the one in the toughest spot.
Dobbins is the tailback the next two years which sucks for Weber. Love to see them both in there at the same time.
Buckeyes with some other big time playmakers, they just need to develop.

Burrow is intelligent, I believe he can graduate from OSU this year and have immediate eligibility as a grad transfer. At worse, a degree from StateX8XOHIOLEGENDX7X wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2017 10:41 pm burrows needs to leave town if he is ever gonna play.....
makes his time in Columbus productive despite lack of playing time. If he does not have NFL ambitions, he may stick around and learn to become a coach like his father.

Haskins is the future, which should start NOW. I'm still not convinced this offense with JT can beat Iowa, PSU, MSU or scUM.

GLAD TO SEE THE WIN. WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE NEXT QB IN LINE, BUT I KEPT TELLING MRS. BAIT, WHY DON'T THEY GET JT OUT, BEFORE HE GETS INJURED AND GIVE SOMEBODY ELSE SOME WORK.farmer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2017 8:09 pm Sure didn't get to see much of the second team QB.

Why not bring in the backup QB? Is Urban does not want to hear more about changing QB's.

Re: WEEK 3 ARMY @ OHIO STATE. WHAT SAY YA'LL.
I saw on the Columbus news they were asking him if he'd consider benching jt, and he just flatly said no and shut it down. at the end of the day it's still urban honking Meyers coaching. with 3 national titles under his belt. whoever is in, we have to mature quickly. does anybody but me think it is to put the all time scoring record so far out of sight, that it will never be sniffed at again by a big ten player.
