Based on last night's results, it appears that it will be a long season for the Buckeyes, after they lost nearly all of last year's team, with almost the whole team being graduate transfers or freshmen. OSU fell to #22 South Florida at Value City Arena, 71-47. In her Buckeye debut, Carly Santoro scored 14 points. Freshman Dorka Juhasz also notched a double-double in her first career collegiate game for OSU. The Bulls outplayed the Buckeyes in nearly every facet of the game last night.

Next up, Ohio State will host Detroit Mercy on Friday to try and notch their first win of the season.

The Buckeyes got in the win column last night for the first time this season, as they defeated Detroit-Mercy, 55-41. Dorka Juhasz notched her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow Freshman Aaliyah Patty scored a game-high 16 points. Although the margin of victory was 14 points, OSU really did dominate this game on both ends of the floor.

Next up is a big one, as Ohio State travels to UConn tomorrow.

Already another tough game for the Buckeyes today, as they traveled to #2 UConn and fell to the Huskies, 85-53. The game was never really all that close, but a bright spot was Carly Santoro pouring in 20 points, and Makayla Waterman recording a double-double, her first.

Next up, Ohio State will travel to California this weekend as they will play at Sacramento State on Friday and Stanford on Sunday.

Both of Ohio State's games this weekend have been cancelled due to the effects the wildfires have had in California. They were scheduled to play two games. One at Sacramento State and one at Stanford.

Dorka Juhasz also notched her third double-double of the season already with 18 points and 16 rebounds.

The Tar Heels were led by a 15 point performance from Stephanie Watts.

Traveling to Seattle last Wednesday, and came back with a loss against Washington, 69-59. Dorka Juhasz and Makayla Waterman both scored 11 points for the Buckeyes, but it didn't come up to be enough. The difference in this one was the turnovers, as OSU turned it over 21 times.

Amber Melgoza had a huge game for the Huskies, leading all scorers with 28 points.

Next up, they'll host Florida on Sunday.

The Buckeyes picked up a big W on Sunday, defeating Florida 46-41. OSU made a furious comeback in the fourth quarter to claim this one, as they struggled a majority of the game. Their smothering defense in the fourth held the Gators to just 4 points in the quarter.

OSU was led by Makayla Waterman with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Gators were led by Funda Nakkasoglu with 14 points.

To date the Buckeye women's team, though woefully short on talent, have proven to be competitive.

The 2019 recruiting class for the Buckeyes. I believe they have the 3rd ranked recruiting class.

The ladies wrapped up their weekend in West Palm Beach, Florida, yesterday, falling to a solid Virginia Tech team, 81-73. The Buckeyes held an 8 point lead at the halftime break, but the Hokies cut the lead to 3 points after the third quarter, then used a big fourth quarter to claim the victory.

Dorka Juhasz had a big game for OSU, tallying 27 points and 8 rebounds, and adding 2 assists.

Taylor Emery led the Hokies with 27 points, and two other Hokie players added double-doubles: Regan Magarity (15 points, 15 rebounds) and Trinity Baptiste (12 points, 10 rebounds).

4 straight losses for OSU, as they fell to Nebraska on Monday, 78-69. It was a back and forth game, as the Buckeyes led at the end of the 1st, Cornhuskers led at half, Buckeyes led after 3, then Nebraska used a big fourth quarter to take home the win in Columbus. The Buckeyes were led by 14 points performances by both Dorka Juhasz and Makayla Waterman.

Nebraska was led by Leigha Brown with 19 points.

Ohio State will travel to College Park on Saturday to take on #4 Maryland.

Playing a tough conference game on the road at #4 Maryland, the Buckeyes played quite possibly their best game of the season, but ultimately fell 75-69. Dork Juhasz led the Buckeyes with another double double (18 points, 10 rebounds). Janai Crooms also scored a season high 10 points. Makayla Waterman also added 12 points for OSU.

Kaila Charles led the Terrapins with a game-high 24 points.

Ohio State will be back at home next, as they host Indiana on Thursday.

Meanwhile, OHIO University is 12-0 and just knocked off a Sweet 16 team on the road. Also have local standout as a starter.

The Bobcats are having a great year! I was just mentioning to someone the other day how they are still undefeated and looking good doing it!

But, the Buckeyes are definitely down this year. Every single player on their roster is either a freshman or a grad/grad transfer, except for three of them (1 soph, 1 jr, 1 sr). The Buckeyes have the 4th ranked recruiting class for 2019, so that will be a big help. One thing they probably could have done a little better at is getting the girl from Africentric (Columbus), who is ranked #2 overall in the 2019 class, who committed to Tennessee.. And another girl from Ohio, who is ranked #7 overall in the 2019 class who committed to South Carolina.
