The Buckeyes wrapped up a weekend sweep over #13 Penn State on Saturday in University Park, defeating PSU 6-4. OSU wasted little time getting out to a lead, scoring at the 6:39 mark of the first. PSU then struck back scoring two consecutive goals. OSU then answered back, scoring two unanswered of their own. The Nittany Lions then hit the back of the net again, before the Buckeyes scored three more unanswered goals. Penn State got back on the board one more time in the third, but it was too little too late.

Ohio State is back in action on February 1st and 2nd as they host two games against Notre Dame.

The Buckeyes picked up a nice conference win on Friday night to open up their series against #11 Notre Dame, 4-2. Half way into the 2nd period, the Buckeyes got out to a 2-0 lead. But, the Irish followed that by scoring two unanswered later in the 2nd period to tie it up. The third period is where the Buckeyes made their mark and pulled out the victory by scoring two more goals.

Ohio State will wrap up their weekend series with Notre Dame on Saturday at 8pm.

OSU picked up a win on Saturday, completing a weekend sweep of Notre Dame, 2-0. Tommy Nappier stopped all 30 Irish shots on the night, for his fourth shutout of the season. Matt Miller scored a goal early in the second period, and Carson Meyer chipped one in late in the third for an insurance goal.

Next up, Ohio State will travel to Wisconsin next Friday and Saturday.

It took overtime, but the Buckeyes (18-5-4; 11-3-3) notched a 2-1 OT road win over Wisconsin (9-13-5; 5-7-5) on Friday night. Both teams were scoreless after one period of play where defenses really stepped up. The Badgers scored the only goal of the second period, taking a 1-0 lead. Then, OSU took the only score of the third period to tie it up at 1-1. Then came OT, where nobody scored until the Buckeye's Matt Miller hit the game winner with just 9.5 seconds left.

The two teams will wrap up their weekend series today at 8pm.

So far, Ohio State is 3-0 against Wisconsin this year.

It was an extremely tough weekend for the Buckeyes, as they lost two Big Ten games to an unranked Minnesota team, losing both 4-3.

They are back in action next weekend, when they have two games at Michigan on Friday and Saturday.

B1G Regular Season Champions!!!! For the first time in program history, the Buckeyes are the regular season champions in the Big Ten. It took overtime and a shootout. The game was tied 3-3 after three periods, so the Buckeyes and Wolverines went into overtime. There, neither team was able to score. So, the two teams went into a shootout, where OSU was able to clinch not only their point for going into overtime, but the bonus point for the shootout win.

Ohio State still has one more weekend left in the regular season, where they will host Michigan State next Friday and Saturday.

Wrapping up their regular season this weekend, the Buckeyes used their momentum from claiming the conference regular season title last weekend to earn a weekend split with visiting Michigan State. They cruised to a 5-1 victory on Friday, but then fell in a tight one on Saturday 3-2.

Next up will be the B1G Tournament. Ohio State will get underway on the 17th when they host the semifinal round.

In the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament, the top seeded Buckeyes were upset in Columbus by #17 Penn State, by a dominating score of 5-1. There is still a possibility that OSU gets an at-large to the NCAA Tournament, but not very likely. The Nittany Lions got out early to a 2-0 lead after one. It ended up 3-0 after two. Then PSU pushed it to 4-0, in the third the Buckeyes scored at the 15:38 period, and the last goal of the game came on a late Penn State goal to take the win.

Although they lost in the semifinals of the conference tournament, the Buckeyes did win the outright conference championship in the regular season, which was good enough for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, being sent to the West Region. OSU received the #3 seed in the West, and they will play Denver in the first round who received the #2 seed in the West. The game will be Friday at 5pm in Fargo, ND.

In Fargo, North Dakota on Friday night, the Buckeyes season came to an end, as they fell to Denver 2-0 in the NCAA West Regional Semifinal. Both teams played dominating defense in the first period, but Denver was able to score one goal in each of the 2nd and 3rd periods to take the win and move on to the next round.
