2016-17 Ohio Bobcats Athletics Year in Review:

Baseball - For the second time in three years, the Bobcats ran through the MAC Tournament undefeated and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament Regional. Unfortunately, for the second time in three years, they also went 0-2 in the NCAA Tournament, losing their first two games. OU's overall record was 31-28 and they went 13-11 in the MAC in the regular season. It will be extremely difficult for the Bobcats to make a return trip next year, as there were 11 seniors on their roster this season.

Men's Basketball - It was another pretty solid year for coach Saul Phillips squad on the hardwood, as they finished the season at 20-11 overall and 11-7 during the MAC regular season. But, that success did not continue as the MAC Tournament got underway, in the quarterfinal round, the Bobcats defeated Toledo, but then fell to Kent State by 2 in the semifinal game. Following the conference tournament, the Bobcats declined all their postseason bids because they were not bids for the NCAA Tournament. The Bobcats senior consisted of two stars, Antonio Campbell (who missed most of the year with injury) and Kenny Kaminski, to go along with Drew Crabtree who did not see any meaningful playing time. Bobcats fans could look forward to Jaaron Simmons returning next year but he has decided to transfer to Michigan.

Women's Basketball - What was hoping to be a dominant year for OU, turned into a solid year but not what was expected. The Lady Bobcats finished the season at 22-10 overall and 12-6 in the MAC regular season. After a first round MAC Tournament win against Eastern Michigan, the Bobcats fell to Northern Illinois by 1 point in the quarterfinal. After that, OU accepted a bid to the NIT, where they fell to Penn State in the opening round by 9 points. The roster consisted, unfortunately, of 6 seniors who scored a lot of points for the Bobcats.

This thread will work the same way as the Ohio State one, I will write them and add them as I have time. It shouldn't be too much longer until I get all of OSU and OU finished.
