Conference realignment moves that take effect on July 1

The 2017-2018 fiscal year for the NCAA starts on July 1, which means it's time for another round of conference realignment. A couple schools are switching conference entirely, while others are switching in one sport only. Still others are either adding or dropping sports.

The most significant change is Wichita State officially joining the American Athletic Conference in all sports (does not have a football team). Of interest to Big Ten fans, Notre Dame officially becomes a member of the Big Ten for men's ice hockey.
