Coy won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference indoor championship with a record shot put throw of 64' 01.25".

Coy is the top seed for the D2 Indoor National Championships in the shot put by over a meter (3.26 feet), which at the championship level is a lot! He is also the #4 seed in the weight throw at the national championships.

Why did he leave Purdue?

I heard he decided he could do better where he is at. A lot smaller college, but history shows it is a lot better school than Purdue for track.

Coy was seeded 4th in the weight throw at the NCAA D2 Indoor Nationals last night and had a massive PR on his way to winning the national championships in the weight throw with a mark of 21.44 meters which is just a shade of 70 feet. He will look to double up winning a second national championship in the shot put tomorrow where he is the #1 seed.

Coy claimed the national championship in D2 in shot put as well, with a throw of 18.91 meters which is 62' 0.5".

He's the double champ in the weight and shot put.

Congrats Coy. Very proud.

Coy is the first D2 male thrower to ever win the national championship in shot put and weight throw in the same season
Coy was named the D2 national field athlete of the year
Coy's coach, Ray Robinson (Another LHS Grad) was named the D2 national assistant coach of the year
