Traveling to Morehead State, the Bobcats really got the bats playing long ball on Tuesday night, belting 6 home runs, but ultimately falling to Morehead in a 15-14 shootout. For the Bobcats, Michael Klein smashed two long balls while driving in 4 runs and Rudy Rott also played long ball two times and drove in 3 runs. Spencer Ibarra (2 RBI) and Connor Callerry (2 RBI) each added deep balls on the game as well.

Taking the loss on the mound for OU was Jake Roehn who went 1 inning while giving up 1 run in a relief effort, with that run being the walk-off run.

Next up is a 3 game weekend home series against Bowling Green beginning on Friday.

Chieftain, is there any local SE Ohio kids on the roster for the Bobcats and if so what High Schools were they from?

Do the Bobcats host a camp or showcase during the year?

There aren't many players playing for OU from Ohio period. I don't know if Newark is considered local to some people, but there is a freshman, Derek Carr from Licking Valley.

As far as camps, they host prospect camps in December and January.

That is interesting there are not a lot of Ohio players on the OU Roster.

Is that true for most schools in Ohio (Cincinnati, Xavier, Kent St., OSU, etc.) to not have many Ohio players?

For the fourth time in their 5 games this season, the Bobcats downed Kent State, the top seed in the MAC tournament, and seems to be the kryptonite for the Golden Flashes. With that win, Kent State has been eliminated and the Bobcats will march on to the MAC Championship game with rest and a major advantage after their 7-2 victory.

After a 7-4 victory over Eastern Michigan earlier today, the Bobcats have clinched the MAC Tournament title for the second time in the last three years. OU blew through the MAC Tournament with little resistance, without losing a single game. Throughout the tournament:

vs. Ball State - W 4-3
vs. Kent State - W 5-3
vs. Kent State - W 7-2
vs. Eastern Michigan - W 7-4

With that win, the Bobcats have secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Their seeding and regional placement will be announced tomorrow.

Game 1 for the Bobcats in Lexington ended in a tough loss as they were edged by host Kentucky 6-4. They trailed this one from the first inning on, as Kentucky put 2 on the board in the 1st, one in each of the 4th and 5th innings and two in the 6th. Then the Bobcats bats came alive as they scored 3 runs in the 8th inning off a Rudy Rott 3-run blast and Ty Black adding an RBI single in the 9th where OU ultimately came up short. Michael Klein took the loss on the mound going 4 innings and allowing 3 runs off of 8 hits.

The Bobcats will play their second game of the regional on Saturday against Indiana at Noon after they fell to North Carolina State. The winner of this game will keep their hopes alive and move on to face the loser of North Carolina State vs. Kentucky, the loser will pack their bags and go home.

With hopes of continuing their postseason play in Lexington, the Bobcats hopes were dashed as they fell to Indiana in the elimination bracket of the Lexington Regional 11-2. OU took an early 2-0 lead in this one but then IU went on a scoring rampage, scoring 11 unanswered runs to take the win. Gerry Salisbury took the loss on the mound going only 3.2 innings and allowing 4 runs on 7 hits.

OU's season ends at 31-28 with a MAC Title.
