The Buckeyes were looking for a sweep against Iowa on Sunday but came up just on the short end of a 4-2 outcome. The entire offense went through Emily Clark for OSU as she hit a solo home run in the 2nd and drove in an RBI single in the 3rd. Lena Springer took the loss for the Scarlet and White, going 2.1 innings while giving up 2 runs, on 2 hits and 2 walks.

Wednesday will be the next contest for the Buckeyes as they play a single game against Kent State in Columbus.

In their final home game of the year Ohio State topped Kent State 3-0. The entire offense came from Taylor White (2 RBI) and Emily Clark (1 RBI) in the 1st and 5th innings respectively. It only took one arm on the hill for the Buckeyes, and that arm was the one attached to Morgan Ray who went all 7 innings only allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.

OSU will wrap up their regular season this weekend as they travel to Illinois for a 3 game conference series beginning on Friday.

Anna Kirk(Groveport, Ohio (Bishop Hartley)had the only RBI for the Buckeyes.

Saturday was a busy day for the Buckeyes, in the Big Ten Semifinals they defeated Michigan State 4-3. But in the Championship round, OSU was no match for an unreal Minnesota team as they defeated the Buckeyes 6-0. Ohio State will have to wait and see what their matchup is in the NCAA Tournament.

Ohio State 4 Illinois 3 (Softball)
The Buckeyes (35-15) jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then once again held on for dear life to post the win and move into the Big Ten Championship game.

For Michigan State(31-22) it was business as usual in the tourney as they fell behind early, but this time luck ran out as they could not overcome the four run Buckeye lead.

Emily Clark and Lilli Piper each hit two run bombs for the Buckeyes.

Lea Foerster,Kaitlyn Eveland and Ebonee Echols each had RBI for the Spartans.

Minnesota 6 Ohio State 0 (Softball)
Minnesota (54-3) showed just how far apart they are from anyone in the Big Ten, with their white washing of the Buckeyes(35-16).

The Buckeyes killed themselves by walking way to many Gophers hitters. 15 total walks by three Buckeye pitchers all but handed the win to Minnesota. Shelby McCombs, who hit 71 on the radar gun, walked 8 in just 4 2/3 innings. Shelby Hursh walked 6 in just 1 2.3 innings. She topped out at 69 on the Radar gun. Morgan Ray walked just 1 in one inning of work. She hit 69 on the radar game gun.

Minnesota had one homer run by,Sydney Dwyer (2 hits 2 RBI)
Sam Macken had 3 RBI.
MaKenna Partain had 1 RBI

Minnesota had just 6 hits to go with the 15 walks.
Ohio State potent offense had just 2 hits, while striking out 12 times.

Not to change subjects, but MAN! Did Minnesota get a big ole middle finger from the committee. Ranked #2 or #3 and no home game or seating.

Game 1 in the Knoxville Regional ended in loss for the Buckeyes as they fell to South Carolina Upstate yesterday 7-3. Their second game will be against Longwood today.

The Buckeyes NCAA Tournament in the regionals have ended in a bit of disappointment after they fall to Longwood 3-1 on Saturday. After a successful regular season, the Buckeyes lose both of their regional games to mid-major opponents that have effectively ended their season.

I maybe wrong 2009. I think all of the Big Tens team are gone now. Looks like the committee had it right in not giving the Big Ten any seating's.

You are correct 1987, all Big Ten teams have been eliminated. It's so hard to judge teams up north. Every team that is remaining is either from the South or the West.

I don't know what OSU or the rest of the Big Ten brings back next year. But I do know Minnesota loses Sarah Gronawagon at pitcher and they're #1 hitter so they will have nothing next year. Michigan will need 2 pitchers and they will need someone to step to the plate to be a hitter. You never know it could be a big year for several teams.

Ohio State is losing their #1 pitcher, starting outfielder, and a utility player, the rest of the team returns.
