Could you imagine ? It would be monumental as well as very profitable.
Dec. 22/23
1. Alabama vs. 8. Oklahoma
2. Clemson vs. 7. USC
3. Ohio State vs. Michigan
4. Washington vs. Penn State
Quickly, think of a team that would have a beef for not making the playoffs!! (Maybe Western Michigan, but that is it!!)

Re: 8 Team Playoff!!
We won't see an 8 team for a long time, if ever! I don't like to speculate about what it would be like. Of course, this would make college football millions more dollars. And, there would be a lot of good matchups. But, no matter how many teams they expand the playoff to in the future, there will always be teams complaining and people saying that so and so deserved it more than the other team. People say Michigan and Penn State both deserved to be in at #5 and #6. If you expand to 6 teams, then you would see Oklahoma and Wisconsin people complaining about not getting in. If you expand to 8 teams, you would hear the people from USC and Colorado complaining about not getting in. There is no fix to what they are doing, people will always say there is another team more deserving to get in no matter how many teams you expand to.
It's like college basketball, 68 teams get into the tournament if you include the play-in games, but of course teams 69 and 70 will say they deserved to get in more.
Personally, I think something cool to do would be take the Power 5 conference champs (Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, Oklahoma, Washington) and then take the next highest rank team to make it 6 (Ohio State). That's obviously not going to happen, but something to think about.

Re: 8 Team Playoff!!
Why have two Big playing each other. TOSU has played Oklahoma and Michigan so they should play Clemson or bammer. Going to 8 team might cause a problem. They usually play this way 1 vs 8---2 vs 7--3 vs 6---5 vs 4....if they would go to 8 they need to change how who plays who. No need to have a rematch and with the way they pick who plays who has too much of a rematch.baseball16 wrote:Could you imagine ? It would be monumental as well as very profitable.

Re: 8 Team Playoff!!
Basketball has way too many teams getting in now, they should go back to 32 IMO.8 would be perfect for football.Should have done it from the start.Knock off one of them cupcake teams they play every year and it wouldn't even extend the season .Heck they don't even have enough spots to represent the 5 conference champions the way it is now.It would get most the 1 and 2 loss teams in,get more than two and you don't deserve it anyway and it would make the regular season still important.Might as well forget it for awhile.Ole Herbie Hancock was on the Drennan show Monday and he said things are staying the same.
