CFB BREAKING NEWS: NCAA Rules Notre Dame Must Vacate All Wins From 2012, 2013 Seasons

According to head coach Brian Kelly, Notre Dame will have to vacate all wins from both the 2012 season and the 2013 season as a result of the NCAA’s findings.

Tuesday, the NCAA announced that Notre Dame, due to an academic scandal, will face a number of sanctions, including a one-year probation and the vacation of wins in which ineligible players participated during the 2012-2013 season and the 2013-2014 season. In short, the NCAA claims that a former student trainer completed coursework for three football players.

The biggest question after the news dropped? How many wins would the Fighting Irish be vacating?

According to head coach Brian Kelly, it’s every win from both seasons. He believes the penalty is excessive, and he says the school is going to appeal it.


Looks like Notre Dame is in a little hot water here.

That be harsh, but no loss of school's mentioned. UNC has got to be worried with their athlete/academic problems. All other big time programs undoubtedly are examining their athlete academic support systems for potential problems. I am sure our beloved Ohio State and the rest of NCAA D-1 push the rules envelope to the max.

I have always said the players are punished and shouldn't be. The school should be fined and those coaches and others with the knowledge of this violation should be the ones punished. You just have too many young men that went out and gave their all and a few ruins it.

I agree with this. If there was a way to punish the players! It's hard to punish the ones that are out of school, no eligibility left and have been out of the NCAAs jurisdiction for several years.

They need to work on not allowing the boys at fault to go into the pros for a few years.
