Coach D'antoni seems to be slowly bringing The Herd back to basketball respectability. I do not think they challenge for a C-USA title or a tournament berth, but they should win more they lose.

I think they could. They went 12-6 in conference last year and went to the semi finals of the conference tournament. Only player they really lost was James Kelly. Return all 4 other starters and key role players.

D'antoni can coach and win at Marshall. Helps that his brother is back in the NBA in Houston. They sure got a bad rap in LA with the mess with management dealing with Kobe's last years.
Still early in the season but Marshall is off to a good start. If the stay healthy and out of trouble could finish at the top 3 in the conference.

Marshall lost its first game of the season to Ohio State 111-70. Marshall was without starting PF Ryan Taylor, and got a good look on what they need to improve on. Interior defense and toughness towards rebounding the ball. Next up for Marshall is Ohio on 11/30

Another win for the Herd last night 81-65. Really helped getting playing time and experience for bench players. Starting forward and center was out and Jon Elmore only played about 5 minutes. Glad to see guys get experience. Next up for the Herd is #24 Cincinnati on Thursday.

Marshall lost a tough road game tonight to #24 Cincinnati 93-91 in overtime. Very good game for the Herd as they went 17/30 from 3 pt range. Marshall had a 12 point lead at the half, Stevie Browning lead all scorers with 28. This game will definitely help build momentum for the last non conference game at Pitt next Wednesday as well as conference play. Marshalls starting center Terrence Thompson missed his 6th straight game due to injury.

How tall is Terrence Thompson?

noreply, he's only 6'8, but he's long and plays bigger than he is. He's a great rebounder and a decent shot blocker to play around the rim. Marshall lacks size.. our 4 is only 6'5. But he plays bigger than what he is too. Our backup center is 6'9, but he's from Bosnia and isn't really one of those guys who can bang the boards and make something happen in the post.

Marshall lost another tough one to Pitt on Wednesday. 112-106, CJ Burks lead all scorers with 25 points. Marshall finished ok conference play 7-6 and starts conference play Dec 31st against FIU. This team should make a huge run in Conference USA play.
