Tough weekend for Marshall basketball. Marshall returned from what's considered in C-USA as "the toughest road trip in Conference) while playing and losing to both MTSU and UAB, Marshall was considered "in" with Joe Lunardi's last bracketology relased. It'll be interesting to see if they're in it next week. Marshall returns to play 1/21 against WKU at home.

The Herd are currently 98th in the latest RPI, so winning the conference tournament appears to be their only ticket to the big dance.

Yeah, Joe Lunardi had C-USA having two teams in. He had Middle Tennessee State getting an at large and Marshall in for the conference tournament. Sure that'll probably change this Thursday with his latest projections.

Another note for the Herd is freshman PG Ky're Allison (Portsmouth, Ohio) has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

This is the part of the year good teams are getting better. Until Marshall decides to step up their defense they will just be a so so team. D'antoni keeps saying they practice but the players do not translate that to the floor on game day. Losing an Asst Coach and then suspending Allison goes to show they are not ready as a team.
