It puzzles me that OSU can't find a point guard. When they do have a point guard, not a 2/3 playing the point like this year, they have been very successful. They are big enough program to at least get one strong player at that position. Just goes to show, no point guard...no chance to win championships.

The PG isn't the problem in any way, he's the best player on the team. The problem is they don't have a big scorer, Loving can score but not on a near consistent enough basis. Trevor Thompson is a very good center, gets a double-double more times than not. Their problem is, like mentioned before, is the lack of a dominant scorer.

I think you misunderstood me...Lyle is good, but he's not a true point guard. He's a 2. They need a one that can create for guys that struggle to create their own shot.

I know what you mean now, yes I misunderstood, my bad! I agree he's not a true point guard, but in my opinion, if they had someone that could light up the scoreboard two out of every three games they would be just fine. But, I agree, having a "true" point guard would definitely benefit them.

Last night, for a second straight game, Ohio (13-10) left the gym with a loss, this time at home against #17 Maryland (20-2), 77-71. Justin Jackson led Maryland with a 22 point-12 rebound double-double. Leading the losing effort for the Buckeyes was Jae'Sean Tate with 20 points.

Up next for the Buckeyes is a big game on Saturday at Michigan.

Although it wasn't against a great team, Ohio State (15-10) picked up an important win at home last night against Rutgers (13-12), 70-64, putting up back to back Big Ten wins. Kam Willimas tied his career high with 23 points for the Buckeyes, and Trevor Thompson threw in his 9th double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Leading the Scarlet Knights was Corey Sanders with 17 points and Deshawn Freeman contributed a 10 point-10 rebound double-double.

The Buckeyes have a tough game up next, as they travel to Maryland on Saturday.

Even though Ohio State (15-11) made an impressive comeback in the second half, they ultimately fell short on the road against #21 Maryland (21-4), 86-77. The Buckeyes were without JaQuan Lyle in this game. Leading OSU was Marc Loving with 24 points and Trevor Thompson added his 10th double-double of the season with 11 points-10 rebounds. Leading the Terrapins was Anthony Cowan with 19 points.

Next up, the Buckeyes will travel to Michigan State on Tuesday where they will try to complete a season sweep of the Spartans.

In a game Ohio State (15-12) really needed to have any chance at making the big dance, on the road at Michigan State (16-10), the Buckeyes fell 74-66. Marc Loving had a big game with 22 points. For the Spartans, Alvin Ellis threw in 18 points, and freshman star, Miles Bridges added a 17 point and 11 rebound double-double.

Only 4 games are left for the Buckeyes, and all of them are must wins. Their next game is Saturday when they host Nebraska.

In a must win situation on Saturday at home, the Buckeyes (15-13) essentially gave one away against Nebraska (12-14), as they lost 58-57. The Buckeyes led late in the game, but after a few bad possessions and some poor defense, they ultimately lost. Leading the Cornhuskers was Tai Webster, their stud, with 17 points. For the Buckeyes, it was Jae'Sean Tate who had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The remaining schedule for the Buckeyes isn't easy, as their next matchup is Thursday when they host Wisconsin.

Well 2017 is in the books. Might not make NIT and they shouldn't. One more year for Thad to prove he's still got what it takes. B1G isn't necessarily a juggernaut.

Even though the final score it shows they won by 10, the Buckeyes (16-13) earned a surprising and dominant victory of #16 Wisconsin (22-6) in Columbus, 83-73. The Buckeyes got a huge performance from Jae'Sean Tate, who had a double-double in the first half and finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds, CJ Jackson also had a huge game with 18 points. Bronson Koenig led the Badgers with a huge 27 point game. This was by far the biggest win of the season for the Buckeyes.

The next game for OSU is Tuesday when they travel to Penn State.

On Tuesday, in a back and forth game, the Buckeyes (17-13) came out on top on a layup with 3 seconds left on a Jae'Sean Tate layup on the road at Penn State (14-16), 71-70. This was a major game for the Buckeyes and a must win. On the night, JaQuan Lyle led OSU with 17 points. Tony Carr poured in a game high for Penn State with 21 points.

OSU plays in their last regular season game on Saturday when they host Indiana.

Trying to wrap up the regular season with a win, the Buckeyes (17-14) were unable to pull off a win against Indiana (17-14) in a high scoring affair, 96-92. Leading the Buckeyes was Jae'Sean Tate with 20 points and Trevor Thompson with a 19 point and 11 rebound double-double. Robert Johnson led the Hoosiers with 26 points and James Blackmon with 22 points.

The Buckeyes will await the official bracket for the B1G Tournament to see who they will play in the first round.

The most agonizing game I've ever witnessed out of an Ohio State team.
It was a pathetic uninspired walk through the motions performance.
It was very clear Rutgers had way more energy, fight and desire to win.
No one and I said NO ONE stepped up for the Buckeyes to do anything to win.
Foul shooting was horrendous, rebounding was non existent, and the offense couldn't create anything. Rutgers? Are you serious?
Matta has a problem and he better figure it out. At least he has some time to do that - the Buckeyes shouldn't be invited to the NIT.

Poor is the only word to describe last nights game for Ohio State (17-15) as they fell to Rutgers (15-17) in just the 1st round of the Big Ten Tournament. Just the second time ever that a Thad Matta OSU team has not made at least the Big Ten Quarterfinals. Jae'Sean Tate looked like the only player who wanted to be there, he scored a team high 18 points also adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Nigel Johnson had a big game for the Scarlet Knights with a game high 21 points.

The Buckeyes will not make the NCAA Tournament, it's just wait and see if they will make the NIT, but it would be a surprise.

They don't deserve to play in the NIT. Maybe no tournament invite what so ever will shake things up.
