Unfortunately I was in Ann Arbor on November 22nd 1969. Very long drive back down Route 23. Young fans do not understand the shock and damage caused to the Buckeye program by that loss. It ushered in the Woody versus Bo 10 year war and led to TSUN dominance in series until the arrival of Jim Tressel on the OSU sideline in 2001.

Ohio State 48
Illinois 7
Weather nice but windy... Illinois has been a thorn in Ohio State's butt sometimes, but not this year. A good tune up before the match up with Michigan State.

Re: OHIO STATE@ILLINOIS===== YOUR THOUGHTS
JT Barrett I feel like, he let his team down last week... this week he comes out swinging. The Buckeyes get it done today.

Re: OHIO STATE@ILLINOIS===== YOUR THOUGHTS
sitting here watching this game and i can just say its not the qb situation. its not that we have too many playmakers and trying to keep everyone happy. the problem is ed warriner as offensive coord. this is some of the most predictable playcalling ihave seen since bollman was calling it. warriner splitting duties as coord. and oline coach is also hampering the oline play. false starts in cruicial times. its just plain bad bad bad so far today. we are seeing like 8 guys in the box and refusing to throw it down the field. we dont mix up plays or formations when we run it we run it every play till we have to punt when we pass it we pass it every play till we either score or have to punt. the defense is playing lights out. frustrating.

Re: OHIO STATE@ILLINOIS===== YOUR THOUGHTS
Either the OSU defense is really really good or Illini Offense is just horrible.
Re: OHIO STATE@ILLINOIS===== YOUR THOUGHTS
The important things to take away from the game is that TOSU is 10-0 and still in the hunt for the BIG and CFP championships.
First of all, credit the Illini defense. They kept pressure on Barrett and the receivers, and held Elliott to short gains until late in the third quarter.
The good: Ezekiel Elliot, TOSU defensive line, TOSU punting, a special team blocked kick.
The bad: TOSU offensive line until late in the game.
The ugly: TOSU's place kicking. turnovers, and mental lapses.
The average: JT Barrett.
I felt JT Barrett not playing last week because of suspension disrupted the continuity of tempo on offense.
Next week versus Sparty will be interesting. Dantonio will have his team ready, especially special teams. TOSU could be in for a long afternoon if the Buckeyes have another average performance. I shudder if the outcome hinges on place kicking.
