The Buckeyes (10-10) earned a 10-8 mid-week win at home over visiting Northern Kentucky (4-13) on Tuesday night. Although the pitching wasn't stellar, the bats came out and saved the day. The Norse took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a two-out, two-run homer by Griffin Doersching. Will Haueter doubled down the left field line before the long ball by the NKU first baseman. The Buckeyes created a run of their own with two outs in the bottom of the first. Cherry ripped a pitch down the left field line for his team-best seventh double of the year before Pohl hit a 0-1 pitch off NKU starter Proctor Mercer for a RBI single.

The Norse added a run in the third after a fielding error with two outs allowed Sam Hedges to score. A two-out, two-run homer in the top of the fourth by Sam Hedges made it a 6-1 contest. Clegg launched the first pitch he saw off NKU reliever Jake Dennis over the wall in dead center for a two-run shot for his first collegiate home run. With two outs, Cherry hit his second double of the night to plate both Dominic Canzone and Nick Erwin to make it a 6-5 game.

Down 7-5, the Buckeye bats rallied with three runs on four hits against NKU reliever Noah Richardson, who fell to 0-2 on the year. Dezenzo doubled down the left field line to score Pohl. Todys came up with the big hit of the game with a first pitch, two-run homer over the wall in left to put the Buckeyes ahead, 7-6. Ohio State tacked on two more runs in the eighth with bases-loaded walks.

Next up, Ohio State will host a 4 game series against Hawaii, which is set to begin on Thursday.

Kicking off their first game of their four game set hosting Hawaii on Thursday, the Buckeyes (11-10) won 6-4 over the Rainbow Warriors (9-12). Their was lots of scoring early on, as Hawaii scored 2 in the top of the first. Then OSU got right back in the game in the bottom of the first, scoring three runs to take the lead. The top of the third then saw the Rainbow Warriors tie the game up.

The Buckeyes struck back in the bottom of the fourth with a two out RBI to take the lead back. With two outs in the bottom of the eighth, OSU drove in two more runs, that ended up being huge. Hawaii tallied one more run, but it wasn't enough.

Leading OSU was Dillon Dingler who went 2-for-3, while driving in a run and scoring twice. Garrett Burhenn tallied the win on the mound to improve to 4-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1.

Next up will be their second game, with first pitch scheduled for 5:05pm.

It took 11 innings on the road, but the Buckeyes (15-11; 1-0) earned a 5-3 victory in their first Big Ten game of the year on Friday against Rutgers (6-16; 0-1). Both teams started the first inning off strong, as they each scored a run, before OSU struck for two runs in the second. The Knights were able to get one run in the 3rd. Then it was a pitching showdown for the next five and a half innings, before Rutgers tallied a run in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extras. The Buckeyes scored two in the top of the 11th to take the victory.

Although the Buckeyes scored 5 runs in the game, they only tallied 1 RBI, which came off the bat of Tim Dezzi. Kevin Welsh also went 2-for-5. Andrew Magno got the win for OSU, as he pitched the final 3 innings of the game.

Serafino Brito took the loss for Rutgers as he pitched 1.2 innings.

The Buckeyes (18-16) picked up their second consecutive non-conference victory of the week on Wednesday night, as they beat Dayton (18-14-1) in Columbus by a final score of 4-2. Dayton picked up the lead for the first time in this one in the top of the third on a fielder's choice that allowed the run to score, and then a two-out RBI single off the bat of Riley Toretta, but that would be the end of the Flyers scoring on the night. OSU scored in the bottom of the inning on a wild pitch that allowed Zach Dezenzo to cross home plate, to trail 2-1.

OSU then tallied one more run in the bottom of the 6th to tie things up as Brady Cherry hit a sac fly that allowed Dominic Canzone to cross the plate, after he double, then reached third on a balk. Finally, in the 8th inning, the Buckeyes were able to take a 2-run lead. The bases were loaded when Conner Pohl walked to bring in one run, followed by a sac fly by Dillon Dingler in the inning.

Dominic Canzone led the Buckeyes with a 2-for-4 performance, where he also scored twice. Jake Vance (3-2) picked up another victory in relief for the Buckeyes, as he went 4 innings of 3-hit, no run baseball.

Aaron Ernst took the loss for Dayton in relief, giving up 2 runs in 2 innings pitched.

Next up is a tough one for Ohio State, as they host a 3-game series against a very good receiving votes Michigan team beginning on Friday.

Needing a win, Ohio State rallied for a non-conference victory tonight in Columbus over a receiving votes Wright State team, 6-5.
