Last night, Ohio State (10-4) lost their B1G opener at Illinois (11-4), 75-70. Every time Illinois went on a run, the Buckeyes matched that run but could never pull away for good in the conference opening loss. JaQuan Lyle led the Buckeyes with 24 points. The Illini's star, Malcolm Hill led his team in the winning effort with 20.

The Buckeyes have a tough stretch of conference games coming up with their next game coming at home on Thursday against Purdue.

In their second B1G game of the season, Ohio State (10-5) nearly pulled off the upset over #20 Purdue (13-3), but fell short 76-75. Jae'Sean Tate led the way for the Buckeyes with 17 points, for the Boilermakers, their stud, Caleb Swanigan had a double-double with 16points-11rebounds.

If you exclude the UCLA game, which they lost by 13, the Buckeyes other 4 games they have lost have come by a combined total of only 10 points.

The Buckeyes next play on Sunday at Minnesota.

What was the fuss over the clock? Heard it on one of the sports show but didn't catch the first part.

For a third straight game, Ohio State (10-6) dropped a B1G conference battle, this time at the hands of a very good Minnesota team on the road, 78-68. Jae'Sean Tate led the Buckeyes with 20 points and Trevor Thompson threw in a double-double with 15points-15rebounds. For Minnesota, Coffey led the way with 19 points.

The schedule for the Buckeyes doesn't let up any time soon, as they travel to Wisconsin on Thursday.

Buckeyes are hard to watch. Undisciplined, out of control way too much, HORRENDOUS FT shooting - cost em tonight's game.
What is going on with Thad Matta coached Buckeyes? I thought they would be much better this year.

Young team still, horrendous at free throws, they don't want to play as a team it doesn't look like. Bates-Diop is also out for the year now, he missed the first ten games or so, played a couple and now he's out for the year which kills the offense because he can do a lot of different things.

Ohio State looks to be at best a middle of the pack in the BIG and a bubble team for the dance in March.
Let me rephrase that to a bottom tier team in the BIG and a bubble team for the NIT. Something is broken with the BasketBucks and as much as I have liked Thad Matta in the past, the house cleaning needs to start with him and his staff.

Matta missed with an entire large recruiting class and is now being hit hard by that. No depth and losing KBD for the year is a killer.

They won't make the postseason and Matta's streak of 20 win seasons is over, however, I think with the graduation of Loving and Lyle leaving, things could definitely look up for the Buckeyes next season.

Buckeyes are 0-3 in the B1G for the first time since 1998 and it looks like they will go to 0-4 tonight.

They are getting rocked right now. Sad state of basketball . 1-2 passes and put up bad shots . Even open looks are not dropping.66-31 with 15 minutes to go 2nd half.

The Buckeyes (11-7) dropped a 4th straight B1G game to open up conference play by falling to #18 Wisconsin (14-3) on the road, 89-66. This game was even more lopsided than the score indicated. I truly had to turn the game off. The Buckeyes were led by JaQuan Lyle (13 pts). And the Badgers were led by Bronson Koenig (21 pts) who seemingly didn't miss anything. Simply stated, Buckeye basketball is a complete mess!

They are back home on Sunday when they face a battle tested Michigan State squad.

Ohio State (11-7) got their biggest win of the season today at home against Michigan State (12-7), 72-67. In a struggling season up to this point, the Buckeyes got their first B1G win tonight, will this help turn their season around? JaQuan Lyle led the Buckeyes with 22 points. Miles Bridges led the Spartans with 24 points.

The Buckeyes will look to build upon that win with a game at Nebraska on Wednesday.

Ohio State (12-7) got a big road win over conference foe Nebraska (9-9), 67-66. Marc Loving scored the game winning bucket off an inbound pass with just 0.6 seconds to seal the win. Loving led the Buckeyes with a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double. Leading the Huskers was Tai Webster with 18 points. After dropping their first four B1G games, the Buckeyes have now won two in a row, to hopefully, turn around their season.

Their next game is Sunday when they host Northwestern.

Another close game for the Buckeyes, but Ohio State (12-8) fell short of Northwestern (16-4), 74-72. Northwestern is clearly a much, much improved team this year, and I don't know if anyone saw that coming from the Wildcats. Northwestern was led by Scottie Lindsey with 21 points. The Buckeyes were led by Jae'Sean Tate with 14 points, and Trevor Thompson threw in another 11 point-15 rebound double-double.

The Buckeyes look to get back on track Wednesday when they host Minnesota, which is the second time they'll play already this season.

Ohio State (13-8) got a huge conference win and payback tonight against Minnesota (15-6) in Columbus tonight. In their first season meeting, the Buckeyes fell 78-68 but got revenge for that loss tonight. The Buckeyes were led by Marc Loving with 19 points and Trevor Thompson with 19 points-10 rebounds, who yet again recorded a double-double. The Gophers were led by Nate Mason with 21 points and got a 15 point-10 rebound double-double from Akeem Springs.

The Buckeyes next game is when they hit the road to face Iowa on Saturday.

The Buckeyes (13-9) went on the road today expecting to pick up a road win, but ultimately came out with a loss at Iowa (12-10), 85-72. OSU was led by Jae'Sean Tate with 17 points and the Hawkeyes were led by Brady Ellington with 17 points.

Their next game is is Tuesday when they host Maryland.
