Cleveland Cavs 50th Season Records Watch

Post by portsmouth_98 »

Sorry, got way behind on this and I'm just now moving some data over after 4 games. I thought it would be fun tracking the progress of all the young players we have rising up through the Cavs records list.

Game 6 : 111-131 Loss to Dallas Mavericks(4-2) 2-4 Overall 2-1 Home, 0-2 Away.
Team Records (3pt seasons=41;Oreb,Dreb,Stl,Blk,=47)
37th in three pointers made
47th in Offensive Rebounds
47th in Defensive Rebounds
47th in Steals
47th in Blocks

Individual records
Kevin Love takes over 32nd in games played
Cedi Osman ties for 50th in games started
Kevin Love tied for 32nd in Blocked shots
Kevin Love moves into 17th in points scored

This one hurt, first home loss and they led most of the first half, went into the 4th down 4 and then lost by 20. This is going to happen when you start three guys 21 or younger. We need to just play hard, try to win and hope for a good pick. I don't believe in tanking, in the NBA there is no guarantee you'll get the top pick (to prevent teams from purposely throwing out trash teams) and it builds a losing culture. I think we the team we have our ceiling is maybe 35-40 wins if we stay healthy so I'd just throw the young guys out, keep a few vets around to help and coach them up, the pick will take care of itself.

Game 6 : 113-119 loss to Boston Celtics(5-1) 2-5 overall
2-2 home, 0-3 away. 1st take, it looks like Gordon Hayward is back to All Star form after missing most of 2018 and limited minutes in 2019 he is actually putting up better stars than his 17 all star campaign before that nasty leg fracture. He absolutely torched Osman last night and I'm ready to draft a SF this year. I know it's only 7 games into the year but Osman has shown little improvement since coming into the league and he does not look like a starter on a playoff caliber team. I wouldn't trade for a SF yet as we aren't sure what kind of team we have going forward but I'd definitely try to draft one unless something major changes.

Team Records
35th in 3 pointers made

Individual records
Matthew Dellevadova moved into 40th in games played
Cedi Osman moves into 50th in games started
Kevin Love moves into 24th in minutes played
Jordan Clarkson ties for 24th in 3 pointers made
Cedi Osman moves into 28th in 3 pointers made
Kevin Love tied for 30th in shots blocked

I always did think Osman was overrated.

Yeah, I believe he was a classic example of LeBron elevating a mediocre player. He regressed without LeBron last year and doesn't appear to have gotten any better this year albeit in a very small same size.
