2019 Minor League Baseball Season.

As I have in the past, I will post on games I watch or listen to.

Game 1
Columbus (Indians)10 Indianapolis (Pirates) 4
The Clippers scored 8 runs combined in the sixth and seventh inning, to post the opening day win. Carlos Gonzalez, Cameron Maybin and Oscar Mercado each had two hits. Leading the way with three of the teams ten hits was, Ryan Flaherty. Flaherty, who hit ninth also drove in four runs. Maybin had to RBI. Henry Martinez (1-0) came out of the pen and threw one inning, giving up one hit, walking one and striking out two.

For the Indians, Will Craig blasted a homer (1) and drove in two. Cole Tucker had two hits from his lead off slot. Jesus Liranzo (01) got the loss.

The two teams combined to walk 16 batters.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 5 Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh 4) 11 innings
A Yu Chang sing in the eleventh plated Ryan Flaherty, with the game winner and sent the home crowd home in a happy mood. The Clippers (2-0) offense was led by Change, who had two hits and three RBI. Tim Federowicz and Mark Mathias both had one RBI. Carlos Gonzalez had two more hits , as he continues to show case his skills, in hopes of making the move to Cleveland. Brooks Pounders (1-0) picked up the win.

For the Indians, Will Craig blasted his 2nd homer of the season. In all he had one hit and drove in two. Cole Tucker drove in one and he had two hits. Kevin Kramer had a hit and a RBI. Taking the loss was, Montana DuRapau (0-1).

Altoona Curve (Pirates) 2 Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland) 0
The Ducks(0-3) were shutout twice in this series and dropped all three games.
As a team, Akron had only four hits, with Andruw Monasterio getting two of them.
For the Curve (3-0), they too only had four hits, but was able to get two runs with them.
Robbie Glendinning and Logan Hill drove in one run each.
Beau Sulser (1-0) got the win in relief, while Sean Brady (0-1) was the tough luck loser.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 7 Indianapolis Indians (Pirates)4
The Clippers (3-0) used six hits to score seven runs, to defeat the Indians(0-3) for the third straight time. Eric Haase went yard for the first time this season, for the winners. In all he had two hits and drove in one run. Oscar Mercado had two hits and walked twice from his led off spot. He also knocked in two runs. Jason Kipnis, Tim Federowicz and Mark Mathias all had a RBI. Kipnis and Mathias both had a hit. Jefry Rodriguez (1-0) went 5 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and striking out three.
Bryan Reynolds led the Indians offense with two RBI and Jake Elmore did have two hits with zero RBI. Eric Wood had a hit and knocked in one, as did Cole Tucker. Alex McRae (0-1) took the loss.

Indianapolis Indians 5 Columbus Clippers 2
The Clippers (3-1) blew a 2-1 lead by allowing four runs in the ninth. Two on base hits and one on a weird error.
The Indians (1-3) got two hits and two RBI'S from Ke'Bryan Hayes. Jake Elmore also had two hits and drove in a run. Kevin Kramer had the fourth RBI for the Indians.
Ryan Flaherty and Trayce Thompson had the RBI'S for the Clippers.
Picking up the win was, Brandon Maurer (1-0).
Getting the save was, Montana DuRapau (1)
Taking the loss was, Henry Martinez (1-1)

Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland) 3 Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Cubs) 00
The Hillcats (3-1) used six innings of one hit ball by,Eli Morgan (1-0) to beat the Pelicans (1-3) by the county of 3-0 yesterday. Jared Robinson (SV 1) earned the save by going two innings, allowing two hits, while striking out five. Trenton Brooks blasted home run number two this season and he scored two runs. Oscar Gonzalez and Gavin Collins each drove in a run.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 2 Louisville Bats (Reds) 1 10 innings.
In the tenth with the bases juiced, Bobby Bradley hit a ground ball to Brian O'Grady. O' Grady threw the ball in the direction of catcher Chris Okey, but the throw was high, wide and wild allowing the winning run to score.
Columbus moves to 4-1 on the season, while the Bats drop to 1-4.
Bradley had given the Clippers a 1-0 lead in the fourth, with his first bomb of the season.
The Bats tied it up in the fifth on a solo blast off of the bat of Josh VanMeter. (1) In all the Bats had just two its, compared to the Clippers seven. Getting the win for Columbus was, Matt Whitehouse (1-0). Taking the loss for the Bats was, Ian Krol (0-1)

Las Vegas Aviators (Oakland) 10 El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 9
Just another wild night in the PCL, late last night.
Las Vegas (4-1) scored the game winner in the ninth on a Tyler Ramirez base hit. Ramirez totaled two hits on the night and drove in two. Dustin Fowler (4) blast two bombs on the night and drove in four. Mark Payton (4) blasted a bomb and drove in three. Beau Taylor drove in one.
For El Paso (1-4) Josh Naylor had three hits and drove in two. Jacob Scavuzzo had two hits, including his first bomb and he had two RBI. Esteban Quiroz, Ty France, Austin Allen and Alex Dickerson all drove in one.
Brian Schlitter (1-0) picks up the win, while Carlos Torres (0-1) blows the save and takes the loss.

Louisville Bats (Reds) 6 Columbus Clippers (Indians 2)
The Bats (2-4) were scoreless until the sixth, when they put up two runs, from there it was one in the seventh and then three more in the eighth to take down the Clippers (4-2), by a count of 6-2. Josh VanMeter (2) blasted two solo home runs and drove in four runs to lead the offense. Christian Colon and Valentin Martinez each drove in a run.
For Columbus Mike Freeman(2) blasted two solo bombs to lead the way. The Clippers as a team had just three hits total.
Getting the win was, Jackson Stephens (1-0) and taking the loss was, R.C. Orlan (0-1)

Great Lakes Loons (L.A.D.) 9 South Bend Cubs (Cubs) 4

Opted on a single A game last night and though the game was not very good, I enjoyed watching it on MILBTV.
Hunter Feduccia hitting ninth led the winners offense, with three hits and three RBI. He was helped out by, Dillon Paulson two hits and two RBI. Miguel Vargas, James Outman and Drew Avans each drove in a run.
Tyler Durna led the Cubs with 2 RBI and three hits. Andy Weber also had two hits and drove in one. The other RBI came from Rafael Narea.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 12 Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) 4
Last night the Clippers(5-3) offense woke up and the team was able to end a two game losing streak and they got a pretty good game from starting pitcher, Sean Brady (1-0). Coming into this one the former 5th round pick out of Baker high school in Cape Coral, FL had a 33-33 record. He went six innings, gave up five hits,2 earned runs, struck out two and walked two. Carlos Gonzalez (1) and Bobby Bradley (2) homered for Columbus. Bradley had three RBI, while Gonzo had two. Yu Chang had three hits and hit his first homer of the season, he drove in three. Brandon Barnes was the hits leader with four. He blasted his first bomb of the season and drove in two. Oscar Mercado had three hits and one RBI. Jason Kipnis drove in a run and had a hit.
For the Bulls (2-5) Michael Brosseau had his third bomb of the season and he drove in two. Christian Arroyo had two hits and a RBI and Jake Cronenworth had a RBI. Andrew Moore (0-2) took the loss.

Dayton Dragons (Reds) 10 Lake County Captains (Indians) 3
Dayton (3-6) put this one away, with a five run seventh, that broke a two all tie. The Dragons would add three more and end this one with a 10-3 blowout win.
Shard Munroe led the way with 3 RBI and 3 hits. Also getting three hits and driving in two was, Jay Schuyler. Miguel Hernandez drove in two and he had one hit. Jonathan Willems also had a RBI.
For Lake County (6-3) Will Benson had two hits and drove in one. Bo Naylor drove in a run and he had one hit. Getting the other RBI for Lake County was, Josh Rolette.
Alexis Diaz (2-0) came out of the pen to earn the win. He went two innings, gave up one hit, one run. Walked one and struck out three.
Juan Mota (0-1) started and took the loss, for Lake County. He lasted five innings, gave up five earned runs. Walked three, while striking out five.

New Orleans Baby Cakes (Miami) 8 Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals 2) 7 Innings
The Baby Cakes (4-4) used a five run seventh inning to put this one away.
Yadiel Rivera and Deven Marrero each drove in a pair to lead the way. Isan Diaz, Isaac Galloway along with Wilkin Castillo each had a RBI. Galloway had three hits to lead the eleven hit attack.
Kelvin Gutierrez had two hits including his 2nd bomb of the season. He had one RBI. Humberto Arteaga drove in the other Omaha run.
Hector Noesi (1-0) went five innings to get the win. He did walk three but counter that with five strike outs and did not give up any runs. Foster Griffin (0-1) took the loss.

Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) 4 Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 3
The Bulls (3-5) scored all four of their runs in the seventh and then hung on to beat the Clippers (5-4) by a count of 4-3. Mac James (Oklahoma) and Jake Cronenworth (Michigan) each had a hit and both drove in a run to lead the winners. Jason Coats (TCU) had to hits to lead the six hit Bulls attack.
For Columbus, Tim Federowicz (North Carolina) and Mark Mathias (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) each had two hits. Yu Chang had a hit and drove in two. Trayce Thompson (Santa Margarita Catholic, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) did not have any hits but drove in a run.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Brewers) 6 Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros) 3

A little A ball for me to start the baseball day off. The Timber Rattlers, used a eight hit attack, plus three base ob balls, to move to (5-5) on the young season. David Fry (Northwestern State) and Chad McClanahan ( Brophy, Phoenix, AZ) each drove in two. McClanahan had two hits, while Fry recorded one. Brice Turang (Santiago, Corona, CA), a slick fielding shortstop, with a bazooka for a arm, drove in one. Je'Von Ward (Gahr, Cerritos, CA) also had one RBI.

For Quad City (6-4), they had five hits by five different players. Enmanuel Valdez, Jeremy Pena (Maine) and Austin Dennis each drove in a run.

Columbus Clippers (Indians)3 Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) 1

Yesterday the Clippers (6-4) used the long ball to defeat the Bulls (3-6). First a solo shot by Mike Freeman (1) (Clemson) to take a 1-0 lead. Then with the game locked at one, Eric Haase (2) slammed a two run bomb to give the Clippers a two run lead and after all was said and done, the Clippers left town with the 3-1 win. Ryan Flaherty (Vanderbilt) and Freeman both had two hits.
For the Bulls, Nate Lowe (Mississippi State) had two hits and drove in the Bulls only run.

Columbus Clippers 4 (Cleveland) Louisville Bats (Reds) 3
The Clippers get the winning run by a bases loaded walk to Jordan Luplow (Fresno State), in the top of the ninth. Luplow, overall had a horrible Clippers debut , by going 0-3 and leaving seven runners left on base. Eric Haase (2) blasted a two run homer to power the Clippers offense. Hasse hitting only .182 on the season struck out three times. Ryan Flaherty (.346) had two hits and he walked three times. Mark Mathias had three hits and scored two runs.

Louisville had six total hits, one each by six different players. Nick Longhi, Christian Colón and Rob Refsnyder all had RBI.

The two teams combined for 27 hits, including four home runs. Eric Haase (4) and Francisco Lindor (1) went yard for Columbus (7-5). For the Bats (6-7) Juan Graterol (1) and Josh VanMeter (5). VanMeter has hit all of his bombs against Columbus.
The Bats total 13 hits, with VanMeter getting two of them and he drove in four. Graterol had two hits and drove in four. Christian Colón drove in one run, with four hits.
Columbus had fourteen hits, with Bobby Bradley leading the way with three. He also drove in one. Getting two hits apiece was, Francisco Lindor, Ryan Flaherty, Jordan Luplow and Trayce Thompson.

The Baby Cakes (6-6) Had just four hits including a two run bomb by Isan Díaz (2) to shutout the first place Cubs (7-5) JT Riddle (Kentucky) had a hit and one RBI, same as Yadiel Rivera.
The Cubs had two hits total.

Las Vegas Aviators (Oakland) 5 Sacramento River Cats (San Francisco) 4 10 innings
A little PCL action to close out the night. It turned out to be a good game with the Aviators (12-2) holding onto win, after giving up one run in the bottom of the tenth.
Seth Brown (6) blasted two home runs to lead the nine hit attack. He totaled two RBI on the night. Jorge Mateo had three hits and one RBI. Sheldon Neuse had two hits and drove in one, for the winners.
For the River Cats (6-7) Henry Ramos (1) and Mike Gerber (2) both went yard. Both were solo shots. Anthony García and Michael Reed each had RBI.
