Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee) 3 San Antonio (Texas) 1 7 Innings
The Sounds (5-11) got a pretty good game from Ariel Jurado (6 2/3/Inn,8 Hits, 1 Earned Run and 7 K's). Jurado moves to 3-0 on the young season.
Miguel Del Pozo (1) earned his first save of the season.
Jose Trevino (.175) had a hit and drove in two runs, to lead the offense. Zack Granite (.255) had two hits and scored a run, to aid in the cause.
For the Missions (8-8) Zack Brown (0-2 Kentucky) took the loss. He gave up five hits, three earned runs and struck out seven.
Mauricio Dubon (.290) had a hit and drove in the teams only run.

Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota) 8 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Yankees) 6

Rochester (6-11) trailed 6-0 after five and one half innings of play, then they scored five in the bottom of the fifth and go on to score one run in each of the next three innings, to post the win.
Scranton (8-7) got a three run bomb by Trey Amburgey (1) to jump out in front. Billy Burns had the teams other RBI. Gosuke Katoh paced the five hit attack, with two hits.
For Rochester, Randy Cesar led the way with three hits and 4 RBI. Catcher Tomás Telis had two RBI and a hit. Wilin Rosario had two hits and he knocked in a run. Zander Wiel had the other RBI.
Ryan Eades 1-1 Posted the win He threw three innings giving up one hit and one earned runs.
Raynel Espinal 0-2 took the loss.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland)11 Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) 7 Oscar Mercado (.361) had four hits and three RBI, including his first bomb of the season, to lead the Clippers. Jordan Luplow (.379) had two hits and two RBI, Mark Mathias (.220) went 2-5 and drove in a run, Ryan Flaherty (.309) drove in two and he had one hit and Trayce Thompson (.151) had one RBI. As a team the Clippers had fourteen hits and they added seven walks to that.
The Tides (7-12) managed to get eleven hits and four walks,leading to seven runs.
Pacing the offense with two hits each were, Mason Williams (.236), Anthony Santander (.262) and Christopher Bostick (.277). Bostick knocked in two, while Williams, Santander, DJ Stewart (.234) and Jace Peterson all knocked in one.

Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) 3 Pawtucket Red Sox 1
The IronPigs (14-4) used eight hits and six base on balls to score three runs and beat the Red Sox (7-11).
Leading the way was, Andrew Romine (.321) with two hits and one RBI. Dylan Cozens (.218) also had two hits. Getting the teams other RBI was, Deivy Grullon (.378)
For the Red Sox, Rusney Castillo (.291) and Sam Travis (.204) each had two hits. Driving in the only run was, Jantzen Witte (T.C.U./ .200)

Syracuse Mets (Mets) 8 Buffalo Bisons (Toronto) 7
This one just ended and it was a good game to have watched. The Mets scored four in the eighth to take a three run lead. From there it was a hold your breath top of the ninth kind of an half inning. The Bisons scored two runs but had their chance to tie things up,with a pop out to Dilson Herrera.
The Mets had twelve hits, with Adeiny Hechavarría (.348) collecting four of them. He also had three RBI. Danny Espinosa (.238) had three RBI to go along with one hit. Rajai Davis (.240) had two hits and drove in a run. René Rivera (.172) had a hit and a RBI.
For the Bisons, they had nine hits including three home runs. Lourdes Gurriel Jr (2), Jonathan Davis (1) and Andy Burns (2). Cavan Biggio, Davis and Burns all had two RBI.

Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland) 6 Bowie Bay(Baltimore) Sox 2 10 Innings
The Ducks (9-11) scored four in the tenth to post the much needed win. The Sox (4-16) had scored two in the eighth to tie things up.
For Akron, Wilson Garcia led the way with a hit and two RBI. Ka'ai Tom (Kentucky), Daniel Johnson and Logan Ice all had a hit and drove in a run. Tyler Krieger had the other RBI.
For the Sox, Ademar Rifaela had a hit and drove in a run. The other RBI went to Jesmuel Valentín.
Matt Whitehouse 1-0 9.00 ERA got the win. He was recently demoted from Columbus.
Taking the loss was, Taylor Grover 0-1 20.25 ERA. Grover now stands 9-23 in his career.

Lake County Captains (Cleveland) 6 West Michigan Whitecaps(Detroit) 5
Lake County (13-8) jumped out in front in the first on a wild pitch by Wilkel Hernandez (2-2 4.34 ERA)in the top half of the first.
Nick Ames (UNLV) would single two in, in the bottom of the first to make this a 2-1 game. Sam McMillan (.237) made it 3-1, with another single. Luis Oviedo then walked two runs in to make it 5-1. He was pulled after getting just one batter out.
The Captains would get a run back in the third on a single by Tyler Freeman (.324). Then in the fourth the Captains made this a 5-3 game, on a Jesse Berardi (.192) double. The final three runs of the game came in the top of the fifth. Mitch Reeves (Florida Southern) doubled in Freeman and then Berardi single in two, to make this a 6-5 game and that is how this one would end.

Durham Bulls 1 (Tampa Bay) Columbus Clippers 00 7 Innings

Game one of a double header and for the most part it was a pitchers owned game.
The Bulls (11-10) have won the first two games of this series, with the win today.
Jake Cronenworth (Michigan) went yard for the fourth time this season to lead the Bulls to the win.
The two teams combined to get just seven hits in this one.
Brandon Barnes (.328) had two of the four Columbus (14-8) hits.

Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia) 2 New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto) 1 11 Innings
The Fightin Phils (11-8) used a double from Luke Williams (.263) to post the eleven inning win over the Fisher Cats (11-11)
Getting the other RBI for the winners was Austin Bossart (.114). The Phils totaled just three hits.
For The Fisher Cats had nine hits, with their RBI coming from Kevin Smith (.188)

Akron (12-12) started fast with all nine runs coming in the first four innings. Wilson Garcia (2) had three hits including a much needed bomb, he also had a total of five RBI, to lead the offense. Jorma Rodriguez (.194) had two hits and two RBI. Connor Marabell (.225) had a hit and a RBI. The last RBI went to Daniel Salters (.182). Overall the Ducks had twelve hits and added four more base runners via the walk.
For the Ponies (10-8) Barrett Barnes (.320) had two hits, two RBI and he scored two runs. Will Toffey (.226) had two RBI and he walked twice. Dario Pizzano (Columbia) added one RBI.

Las Vegas Aviators (Oakland) 6 Reno Aces (Arizona) 3

The Aviators (16-9) took advantage of seven base on balls by Aces (9-15) pitchers to overcome just five hits, to post their 16th win of the season. Seth Brown (9) blasted another home run and in all he had two hits and three RBI, to lead the way. Mark Payton (Texas), Sean Murphy (Wright State) and Corban Joseph (Franklin, Tn) each drove in a run.
For the Aces, catcher Tyler Heineman (.375) drove in two, while Yasmany Tomás drove in one. Kevin Cron and Andrew Aplin both had two hits.

Early afternoon game today was another good game between these two league rivals. For Columbus (15-10) Tim Federowicz (.270) and Ryan Flaherty (.250) each knocked in two. Eric Stamets (Evansville) had three hits to pace the eleven hit attack. Chipping in with two hits was Greg Allen (.222). Oscar Mercado, Bobby Bradley and Trayce Thompson each had a RBI.
For the Indians, Eric Wood (.172) knocked in two and had a hit. Kevin Newman (.292) had a hit and a RBI.

Hickory Crawdads (Texas) 5 Greenville Drive (Boston) 4
This one just ended and after all was said and done the Crawdads (17-7) had another win. Leading the way with the stick was, Miguel Aparicio (.203) and Frainyer Chavez (.204), with two hits each. Sam Huff (12) went yard again and he picked up his 17th RBI. Sherten Apostel (.181) added two RBI to go along with one hit. Jonathan Ornelas (.339), Matt Whatley (.159) each had a hit and a RBI.
For the Drive (11-13) it was another close loss. Grant Williams (Kennesaw State) led the seven hit attack, with two hits and one RBI. Tyler Esplin, Brandon Howlett along with Kervin Suarez each drove in a run.

This was an offense fireworks type of game. The two teams combined for 16 runs, 23 hits including 6 home runs. The pitchers combined to walk 5 and strikeout 13 batters.
For Columbus(16-10), Greg Allen (1), Trayce Thompson (4), and Mark Mathias (1) all went deep. Thompson had two hits and 4 RBI to lead the way. Mathias had three hits and the one RBI. Mike Papi had two hits and a RBI. Eric Haase and Allen both had a RBI.
For the Indians (13-12) Patrick Kivlehan (3) had a bomb and one RBI, Jake Elmore (2) had two hits and drove in a run. Lead off man Jason Martin (10 blasted his first bomb of the season and he drove in two.

Fresno Grizzlies (Washington) 2 El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 0
Fresno (12-15) ended a seven game losing streak by shutting out El Paso ( 19-8) 2-0. In doing so the Grizzlies pounded out twelve hits, including three doubles. Leading the way with two hits each were, Andrew Stevenson (.300), Jake Noll (.256) and Brandon Snyder (.330). Stevenson and Noll both drove in a run.
For El Paso, Matthew Batten (Quinnipiac), Josh Naylor (.301) and Jason Vosler (Northeastern) each had a hit. As a team El Paso totaled just three hits.

Toledo Mudhens (Detroit)7 Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 3
The Mudhens improve to (10-16) with the win, with the Clippers falling to (16-11) Toledo used a thirteen hit attack to get the win and they picked up four base on balls. Columbus on the other hand had just eight hits, while also picking up four base on balls. There were nine extra base hits, including three bombs.
For Toledo, lead off man Daz Cameron hit his third homer of the season. He had just on RBI and scored two runs. Dustin Peterson (.444) went 5-5. drove in one and scored two . Pete Kozma had two hits and drove in four. Mikie Mahtook (.383) went hitless but added a RBI.
The Clippers offense was led by Trayce Thompson, two hits including his fifth bomb of the year and he drove in one. Also getting to hits and driving in one and hitting a homer (6) was, Eric Haase. Brandon Barnes (.270) went hitless but drove in a run.

The Clippers (17-11) got a run in the first and then added single runs in the eighth and ninth, to pick up a 3-0 win over Toledo (10-17). Te two teams combined for twelve hits, with Columbus pounding out seven.

Greg Allen and Trayce Thompson had two hits each, including a triple apiece. Oscar Mercado and Eric Stamets both drove in a run. Four of the seven Clippers hits, went for extra bases.

Games like this make me very happy, that I am a big minor league baseball fan.
Toledo (10-18) built a 5-1 lead, after five inning of play. Columbus (18-11) would come back to tie it up after nine innings and then erupt for five in the eleventh to get the win. Columbus pounded out fifteen hits, compared to just five for Toledo.
A rejuvenated Trayce Thompson (.229) continue his current hot streak, with three hits, three RBI and he added a walk to his stat line. Bobby Bradley (4) hit his fourth dinger of the season and he totaled two RBI. Brandon Barnes (.256) knocked in two. He had just one hit in this one. Tim Federowicz (.286) had two hits and one RBI. Ryan Flaherty (.244) knocked in one, had a hit and scored two runs. Greg Allen (.333) and Oscar Mercado (.289) each had two hits.
For Toledo, Dustin Peterson (.370) went yard for the first time and he had three RBI. Victor Reyes (.237) and Dawel Lugo (.303) each had one RBI.

El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 7 Salt Lake Bees (Angels) 5
The Chihuahuas (20-9) scored three in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead and held on from there to post their twentieth win of the season.
Michael Gettys (8) blasted two bombs and knocked in three to lead the offense. Boog Powell (.385), hitting ninth had three hits and knocked in two.
Chris Stewart (.184) had two hits and one RBI and getting one RBI and one hit was Esteban Quiroz ( .275)
For the Bees (10-18) it was just another defeat in a season that has gone very bad for them, so far. Jared Walsh (.290) blasted his eighth homer run and added a single, with a total of three RBI. Matt Thaiss (.269) had a hit and a RBI. Jose Rojas (.289) had a RBI.

Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals) 11 Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay) 3

This was an UGLY game anyway you slice or dice it. Seven hit batters, fifteen base on balls and seven wild pitches and one error.
The Chiefs (13-14) had eight hits in the win, with three of them being long balls. Leandro Cedeno (2) blasted a bomb, two singles and he had four RBI leading the way. Brendan Donovan (2) blasted a bomb, a single and he knocked in three. Wadye Ynfante (2) hit a bomb and plated one. Brady Whalen went hitless but had two RBI and Brandon Riley had a hit and a RBI.

The Hot Rods only had three hits, with three players getting one RBI each. Ford Proctor, Beau Brundage (Portland) and Michael Smith had the RBI. They added ten more base runners via the walk.
