Game 76
San Jose Giants (San Francisco) 2 Lancaster Jet Hawks (Colorado) 1
My night cap was a California League game and it turned out to be a pitching dominated game. The Giants (22-26) Jake Wong (Grand Canyon) went the first six, giving up three hits, one earned run, while striking out four and issuing just one base on balls. Wong squared his record at 1-1 and lowered his ERA to 4.50. Caleb Simpson (Hold 5 ERA 0.00) threw 1.2 innings allowing zero hits. He walked two and had three strikeouts. Picking up his fifth save was, Frank Rubio. ERA 0.34 after going 1.1 innings. Leading the Giants offense was, Kyle McPherson (James Madison) he blasted his fifth homer and drove in one run. He was 2-2 with a walk. Bryce Johnson (Sam Houston State) went 1-3 with a RBI. Also with two hits was, David Villar (.261).
For Lancaster (26-23) Ramon Marcelino (7) went deep to produce the only run they scored. Lucas Gilbreath 2-2 3.68 ERA (Minnesota) threw seven innings, allowing nine hits two earned runs. He did have some control issue (4 walks). He somewhat countered that with 5 strikeouts.

Game 77
Columbia Fire Flies (Mets) 7 Charleston River Dogs (Yankees) 4
This one was scoreless until the fourth inning, that's when Columbia (20-32) exploded for four runs and then they backed that up with a three run seventh, to go up 7-0. Charleston would respond with two in the bottom of the seventh and then plate singles runs in the final two innings.
Wagner Lagrange (2) counted for all four runs in the seventh by hitting a grand slam.He would total two hits in this one and four RBI. Shervyen Newton (2) had a two run bomb, he would total three hits in this one. Chase Chambers (Tenn Tech) had the teams other RBI.
For Charleston, Brandon Lockridge (Troy) led the five hit attack, with two hits and one RBI. Also getting one RBI apiece were the following players. Max Burt (Northeastern), Matt Pita (VMI), Eduardo Navas.

Game 80
Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston) 7 Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Phillies) 3 7 innings.
The Red Sox (20-29) put this one away with three unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bryce Brentz hit a grand slam to give the Six a lead they would never give up. For Brentz the slam was like the one he hit last Wednesday and gives him seven homers on the season. As a team the Sox had just three hits, as their offense continues their season long struggle.

The Iron Pigs (26-22) got a two run bomb from Damek Tomscha (5). Deivy Grullon had the other RBI for the Pigs. In all the Pigs had eight hits, with Rob Brantly getting two of them.

Josh A. Smith W 2-2 5.88 ERA

Game 82
Columbus Clippers (Cleveland)12 Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) 5
This one ended a little bit ago and it was a great game, if you are a Clippers fan.
The Clippers (30-21) pounded out 14 hits, including 4 bombs and a total of them going for extra bases. Going yard for the winners was the following players. Tyler Naquin (2),
Trayce Thompson (12), Mark Mathias (5) and Ryan Flaherty (5). Thompson has righted the ship and his power is starting to show. He now has 33 RBI. Mathias led the offensive attack with 3 hits and 3 runs scored. Just what you need your lead off hitter to do. Naquin pounded out 2 hits and 3 RBI. Flaherty (2 RBI), Thompson (1 RBI) and Dioner Navarro (2 RBI) all had two hits. Tim Federowicz had a hit and drove in one. The lifetime catcher was forced to play 3rd and 2nd base yesterday because of an injury to Adam Rosales. Tyler Krieger also had a hit and drove in a run.
The Tides (22-29) had three bombs of their own but once again pitching hurt them a lot. Joey Rickard (1) and Chance Sisco ( 9 & 10) Sisco once again is forcing Baltimore to give him some serious consideration to be called up. He has been up the last two season but has struggle. He seems the kind of player, especially on offense that has to play every day to be his best. He totaled 4 RBI in this one giving him 37.

Asher Wojciechowski W 5-1 3.67 ERA. The former Cincinnati Red is making a statement that says call me up, Cleveland.
Luis Ysla L 2-3 5/24 ERA

Game 83
Bradenton Marauders (Pittsburgh) 7 Lakeland Flying Tigers (Detroit) 3
I tried watching these two play a couple of nights back but the feed from MILBTV kept going out. Last night for most of the game the feed was good, not great.
Bradenton (31-21) pounded out eleven hits, including two homers, a triple and a double. Leading the way with two hits was, Cal Mitchell (6) including homer and one RBI. Also going yard was, Robbie Glendinning (7). He too had one RBI. Raul Hernandez and Dylan Busby each drove in two. Hernandez had two hits, while Busby had one. Deon Stafford also had a hit and one RBI.
Lakeland (21-31) Dylan Rosa, Jon Rosoff and Colby Bortles all had a RBI.
Each had a hit and as a team that was all the Flying Tigers had for the game.
Catcher Jon Rosoff is hitting .304 on the season. He has been one of the few bright spots for this team.

Cody Bolton W 6-3 1.81 ERA
Jesus Rodriguez L 2-6 4.72 ERA

Game 93
(Independent League: CanAm)
Sussex County Miners 8 Quebec Capitales 6
I enjoy the independent leagues, so today I opted for this game.
It was an offensive slugfest mixed in with a tad bit of wildness from pitching but overall it was a good one for me to have watched.

Noah Cummings and paced the winners, with 2 hits and 2 RBI each. Nick Zaharion added 2 hits and 1 RBI. Trey Hair, Audy Ciriaco and Troy Dixon each drove in a run, with Ciriaco and Dixon each having a hit.

For Quebec, Alan Mocahbee drove in two and he has one hit. Michael Baca had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Also getting RBI were Kody Ruedisili and Chris Shaw, Ruedisili added a hit to his stat sheet.
