Toledo Mudhens (Detroit)7 Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 3
The Mudhens improve to (10-16) with the win, with the Clippers falling to (16-11) Toledo used a thirteen hit attack to get the win and they picked up four base on balls. Columbus on the other hand had just eight hits, while also picking up four base on balls. There were nine extra base hits, including three bombs.
For Toledo, lead off man Daz Cameron hit his third homer of the season. He had just on RBI and scored two runs. Dustin Peterson (.444) went 5-5. drove in one and scored two . Pete Kozma had two hits and drove in four. Mikie Mahtook (.383) went hitless but added a RBI.
The Clippers offense was led by Trayce Thompson, two hits including his fifth bomb of the year and he drove in one. Also getting to hits and driving in one and hitting a homer (6) was, Eric Haase. Brandon Barnes (.270) went hitless but drove in a run.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 3 Toledo Mudhens (Detroit) 00
The Clippers (17-11) got a run in the first and then added single runs in the eighth and ninth, to pick up a 3-0 win over Toledo (10-17). Te two teams combined for twelve hits, with Columbus pounding out seven.

Greg Allen and Trayce Thompson had two hits each, including a triple apiece. Oscar Mercado and Eric Stamets both drove in a run. Four of the seven Clippers hits, went for extra bases.

Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 10 Toledo Mudhens (Detroit)5 11 Innings
Games like this make me very happy, that I am a big minor league baseball fan.
Toledo (10-18) built a 5-1 lead, after five inning of play. Columbus (18-11) would come back to tie it up after nine innings and then erupt for five in the eleventh to get the win. Columbus pounded out fifteen hits, compared to just five for Toledo.
A rejuvenated Trayce Thompson (.229) continue his current hot streak, with three hits, three RBI and he added a walk to his stat line. Bobby Bradley (4) hit his fourth dinger of the season and he totaled two RBI. Brandon Barnes (.256) knocked in two. He had just one hit in this one. Tim Federowicz (.286) had two hits and one RBI. Ryan Flaherty (.244) knocked in one, had a hit and scored two runs. Greg Allen (.333) and Oscar Mercado (.289) each had two hits.
For Toledo, Dustin Peterson (.370) went yard for the first time and he had three RBI. Victor Reyes (.237) and Dawel Lugo (.303) each had one RBI.

El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego) 7 Salt Lake Bees (Angels) 5
The Chihuahuas (20-9) scored three in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead and held on from there to post their twentieth win of the season.
Michael Gettys (8) blasted two bombs and knocked in three to lead the offense. Boog Powell (.385), hitting ninth had three hits and knocked in two.
Chris Stewart (.184) had two hits and one RBI and getting one RBI and one hit was Esteban Quiroz ( .275)
For the Bees (10-18) it was just another defeat in a season that has gone very bad for them, so far. Jared Walsh (.290) blasted his eighth homer run and added a single, with a total of three RBI. Matt Thaiss (.269) had a hit and a RBI. Jose Rojas (.289) had a RBI.

Peoria Chiefs (Cardinals) 11 Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay) 3

This was an UGLY game anyway you slice or dice it. Seven hit batters, fifteen base on balls and seven wild pitches and one error.
The Chiefs (13-14) had eight hits in the win, with three of them being long balls. Leandro Cedeno (2) blasted a bomb, two singles and he had four RBI leading the way. Brendan Donovan (2) blasted a bomb, a single and he knocked in three. Wadye Ynfante (2) hit a bomb and plated one. Brady Whalen went hitless but had two RBI and Brandon Riley had a hit and a RBI.

The Hot Rods only had three hits, with three players getting one RBI each. Ford Proctor, Beau Brundage (Portland) and Michael Smith had the RBI. They added ten more base runners via the walk.

Game 45
Iowa Cubs (Cubs) 6 Omaha Storm Chasers 3

This was a 2-1 game headed tot he eighth and that is when the Cubs (21-10) would score four times to put this one away. The Storm Chasers (13-18) would respond with two in the ninth but still came up short.
Catcher Francisco Arcia (.230) went 2-3 and drove in three. The young catcher hits ninth in the lineup. Wynton Bernard (.275) the eighth hitter in the lineup, went 3-3 and he drove in two. Lead off hitter Donnie Dewees (.357) had two hits and a RBI. As a team the Cubs had nine hits.
Omaha (13-18) seems to hit the ball but they have little success scoring runs. Nick Dini (.280), a catcher hitting ninth in the line up went 1-3, with his hit being his third dinger of the season He knocked in two, giving him nine on the season. Jecksson Flores (.185) had two hits and knocked in a run, he bats eighth. In all Omaha had nine hits.

Xavier Cedeño (1-0) 0.00ERA.
He came out of the pen to throw 1/3 of an inning.
Jake Kalish (George Mason) 1-2 4.85 ERA
He threw two innings out of the pen. He gave up five earned runs.

Game 46

Dayton Dragons (Reds) 5 Clinton Lumber Kings (Miami) 4
Dayton (11-19) Scored to in the bottom of the eighth to post the win, after giving up three in the top of the inning. The two teams combined for fourteen hits.
The Dragons blasted four bombs on the night and one double, in all they had eight hits. Bren Spillane (Illinois) blasted his third homer of the season and he had a double. On the night he drove in two. Morgan Lofstrom hit his first bomb of the season, a solo shot. Mariel Bautista went yard for the fifth time this season and he totaled one RBI. Carlos Rivero (1) went yard and drove in a run.
For the Lumber Kings, Will Banfield (.205) had a triple, a double and he drove in three.

Fresno Grizzlies (Washington) 4 Sacramento River Cats (Giants) 1
Catcher Taylor Gushue (.333) went 3-4, including his first bomb of the season, a solo shot to lead the winners. He also had a double. Shortstop Bengie González(.192) went 2-4, with a RBI. Chris Dominguez (Louisville) had a hit and a RBI. Jacob Wilson (Memphis) drove in a run. The win improves Fresno to (17-16)
For the River Cats (16-17) Mike Gerber (Creighton) drove in the teams only run, by going 2-3.

Game 49
Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 6 Charlotte Knights (White Sox) 2
Columbus (19-13) used a three run first to kick start this win. The Knights (17-15) pulled to within one run, with a two run sixth but Columbus counter with two in the bottom of the inning and then for kicks plated another run in the seventh, to close this one out.
Bobby Bradley (7) blasted a bomb, a double and a single to close out a 3-4 night. He had three RBI, after all was said and done. Brandon Barnes (.274) has started to find his groove going 2-4 and driving in two. Ryan Flaherty(.242) drove in a run by going 1-4.
For the Knights, Danny Mendick led the offense with four hits. Getting RBI on the night was Zack Collins and Adam Engel (Louisville).

Game 50
Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston 9) Norfolk Tides (Baltimore) 6 10 Innings
Some early afternoon ball and it was another fun game to watch.
The Red Sox (13-18) put together ten hits and used six base on balls to score ten. Mike Miller (Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) had four RBI to lead the offense in that department. Bryce Brentz (Middle Tenn. State) blasted home run number four. He had two hits and drove in two. Sam Travis (Indiana) hit his 2nd bomb of the season, a solo shot. Cole Sturgeon (Louisville) had two hits and two RBI. Juan Centeno (.267) had two hits and one RBI.
Norfolk (15-18) had nine hits, with three being for extra bases. Two of the extra base hits were long balls. Mason Williams (.293) blast homer number five and drove in three. He had three total hits on the day. Former Cleveland Indian farm hand, Anthony Santander hit his fourth bomb of the season and he drove in one. He had two hits to raise his average up to .284. Christopher Bostick went 2-5. DJ Stewart 1-4 with one RBI . The former player from Florida State is now hitting .262. Catcher Jesús Sucre went 2-4 and drove in one. He now has a .222 batting average.
Pitching was an issue for both teams at times but Jenrry Mejia threw a scoreless inning to earn save number six.

Matthew Gorst 1-1 3.72 ERA (He threw one scoreless inning but walked two.)
Tanner Scott 0-1 10.38 ERA ( He threw one inning, giving up two hits. two runs and three hits.

Game 51
Syracuse Mets (Mets) 7 Columbus Clippers (Indians)4
The Mets (20-14) used a four run third to post the win over the Clippers (19-14) last night. The Mets roughed up Clippers pitching for twelve hits, seven of them were for extra bases including four dingers. Rajai Davis (2) had a dinger and drove in two. Jed Lowrie had three hits, including his first long ball of the season. He also had one RBI. Carlos Gómez totaled two hits, including his fifth bomb of the season and he drove in three. René Rivera had three hits, including his first dinger of the season and he had the one RBI.
Oscar Mercado (3) and (3) both went yard for Columbus. Mercado had one RBI, while Barnes had two. Bobby Bradley had the other RBI for the Clippers. Mercado had three hits, with Barnes getting two. Also with two hits was Adam Rosales (Western Michigan). Bradley, Ryan Flaherty and Mark Mathias each had one base hit.
Zach Lee (2-0 4.86 ERA) started and went five innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs.
Taking the loss for Columbus was, Chih-Wei Hu (1-2 5.29 ERA) he was horrible, giving up six hits, six earned runs, 2 base on balls and he had a wild pitch.
Picking picking up the save was, Ryan O'Rourke (2) 3.78 ERA.

Game 52
Palm Beach Cardinals (St Louis) Bradenton Marauders (Pittsburgh) 3 7 Innings
I tried to watch these two on Saturday butt the games was suspended after one due to rain. In the game today, the first game of a seven inning double header the Cardinals (20-14) scored single runs in four of the seven innings to post the win. Zach Kirtley (.267) had two hits and one RBI to lead the offense. Luken Baker had two doubles to give him nine on the season. Michael Perri (San Francisco) had a hit and drove in a run. Dennis Ortega (.167) had a hit and he too also drove in a run. Bryce Denton had one RBI. As a team Palm Beach had eight hits, with three going for extra bases.
For the Marauders (21-13) Cal Mitchell (.315) led the way with two hits an a RBI. Lucas Tancas (Long Beach State) drove in a run and he had one hit on the day. Daniel Amaral (.325) had a hit and one RBI.

C.J. Saylor 2-1. 1.93 Came out of the pen to throw 1 1/3 of an inning to get the win. Max Kranick 1-4 4.75 Era took the loss. He started and went 4 2/3 of an inning, giving up eight hits and four earned runs.
Bryan Dobzanski earned the save. (2) He lowered his ERA to 0.84.

Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis) 5 Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals) 2
Springfield (15-21) used a three run sixth to put this one away. Jose Godoy double in a run. Then it was another double, this one from Evan Mendoza to drive in the second run of the inning. The final run came on a sac fly from Jose Martinez. Martinez had homered in the fifth to make it a 2-1 game.
Northwest Arkansas (13-22) open the dance in the second inning on a solo blast off of the bat of Travis Jones (2) to make it a 1-0 game. Dylan Carlson doubled in a run to lock it up at one in the third. The last run of the game came in the top of the eighth on a wild pitch from Jacob Patterson that allowed the Naturals Angelo Castellano to score and make it a 5-2 game.

Birmingham Barons (White Sox) 6 Tennessee Smokies 1 7 Innings

The Barons (14-22) used a seven it attack including four extra base hits to get the win. Two of the extra base hits were long balls. Hitting his first homer run was Luis Robert. Ti'Quan Forbes hit his 2nd blase of the season. Forbes had four RBI, while Robert had one. Luis Alexander Basabe had two hits and knocked in one. Kyle Kubat (Nebraska) 2-0 0.43 ERA threw a complete game, giving up just six hits. He struck out five and had zero base on balls.
For Tennessee (17-19) Charcer Burks (.221) had two hits and knocked in his teams only run. Also getting two hits was Jared Young (.251)
Taking the loss was Justin Steele (0-3 9.20 ERA. He went four innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs.

Birmingham Barons (White Sox) 4 Tennessee Smokies 1 7 Innings

This was the 2nd game of today's double header. The The Barons (15-22) managed just six hits in this one but that was enough combined with good pitching to get the sweep. Blake Battenfield 1-0 1.80 ERA threw five strong innings, he gave up just four hits, struck out six, gave up one earned run and had just one base on balls. Luis Martinez (1) earned his first save and lowered his ERA to 4.30. Blake Rutherford (3) went yard and drove in two. Gavin Sheets (.240) had one hit and he also drove in two.
For Tennessee it was a long day, with the night cap bringing just four hits. Jared Young (Old Dominion) had a hit and the teams only RBI. Taking the loss was Brad Markey (1-1 5.14 ERA) He threw four innings, gave up four hits and four earned runs.

Game 56
Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland) 7 Bowie Bay Sox (Baltimore) 3
The Ducks (16-20) used a three run bomb from Daniel Johnson (New Mexico State) to take down Bowie (11-25). For Johnson, it was his seventh bomb of the season. He now has twenty five RBI on the season. Ka'ai Tom (Kentucky) blasted his fourth bomb of the season. He drove in two, giving him thirteen on the season. Catcher Li-Jen Chu had a RBI and a hit.
For Bowie, Ryan McKenna went 2-5 including his third bomb of the season. He is hitting just .214 with nine RBI.
Catcher Carlos Pèrez had a RBI and two hits on the day.

Tanner Tully (Ohio State) improved to 3-3 on the season. He went 5 1/3 of an inning allowing seven hits and two earned runs. He walked two and struck out two.

Hunter Harvey (1-3 6.23 ERA) took the loss. He lasted four innings. He allowed nine hits, seven earned runs , struck out five and walked just one.

Game 57

The Grizzlies (21-18) used 14 hits, 2 walks and 2 Isotopes errors to score 10 runs. Four of the hits went out of the park, while two others went for extra bases. Matt Reynolds (4) had two hits including a home run and he drove in two. Bengie González had three hits and a RBI. José Marmolejos had two hits and one RBI. Collin Cowgill (9) blasted a home run and had one run driven in. Brandon Snyder went 1-1 with a RBI. Jacob Wilson (13) went yard, a solo shot, giving him one RBI. Raudy Read (5) blasted a solo home run, giving him the one RBI. Alec Keller (Princeton) drove in a run and had two hits.

For Albuquerque (20-20) Roberto Ramos (8) blasted a solo home run. Brian Mundell and Brendan Rodgers both had two hits and one RBI.

Paolo Espino 3-1 5.36 ERA, a former Cleveland draft pick went 6 2/3 of an inning. He gave up six hits, three earned run and had eight strike outs.

Game 58
Dayton Dragons (Reds) 4 Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers) 3
Dayton (13-24) found away to win even as they committed two more errors, they have 47 errors this season in just 37 games. As a team they are only hitting .172 this month, but in this game they had eight, with two being doubles and one a home run. Catcher Pabel Manzanero (8)hit a solo blast and a double and two RBI. Jonathan Willems (.212) had a hit and a RBI. Carlos Rivero also had a RBI.
For the Loons, catcher Jair Camargo (2) hit a solo blast. Miguel Vargas and Leonel Valera each had a hit and a RBI.

Game 59
Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland) 5 Bowie Bay Sox 2 11 innings
After nine this one was locked up at zero, for Akron that meant twenty two scoreless innings. In the tenth both teams scored twice to force another inning, in that inning Akron got a three run walk off bomb by Daniel Johnson (8). That was the only hit the New Mexico State grad would have in this contest. Wilson Garcia would have the other RBI for the winners. He had just one it too. As a team the Ducks had just six hits. Ernie Clement (.171), Nellie Rodríguez (.294), Connor Marabell (.227) and Li-Jen Chu (.210) each had a hit.
For the Bay Sox, T.J. Nichting (1) had a two run bomb in the tenth and a single earlier in the game. Jesmuel Valentín (.183) had three hits, with Rylan Bannon (Xavier ) and Ryan McKenna (.215) each getting one it.

The Clippers (22-15) got four long balls last night, in all they had eleven hits in route to the win over the Red Sox (13-23). Going yard for Columbus Trayce Thompson (7), Bobby Bradley (8), Ryan Flaherty (4) and Brandon Barnes (5). Barnes had two RBI, while the other three had one apiece. Eric Stamets drove in two. Stamets, Ryan Flaherty, Thompson and Mark Mathias each had two hits.
For the Red Sox, Jantzen Witte, Juan Centeno and Nick Lovullo each had a RBI.
