The Stallions (1-2) playing their first home game, was able to hand the Hotshots(2-1) their first loss of the season.
Taylor Bertolet (Texas A&M) got the scoring started, with a 54 yard field goal to put Salt Lake up 3-0.
The lead went to 9-0 with 11:40 left in the half, when Josh Woodrum (Liberty) threw a short pass to De'Mornay Pierson-El (Nebraska), who broke a tackle on his way to a 24 yard score.

Arizona would get a 48 yard field goal from Nick Folk (Arizona) and then a one yard pass from John Wolford (Wake Forest) to Rashad Ross (Arizona State) to make this a 9-9 game, with 0:27 left in the half.

A Greer Martini (Notre Dame) pick on a pass thrown by Wolford gave the home team a first and and goal on the Hotshots seven.
From there Branden Oliver(Buffalo) would make it a 15-9 game, on a one yard run, with 13:54 left in the third. Oliver would carry a total of 15 times on the day and total 40 yards.

Folk added a 35 yard field goal, with :55 left in the third, to make this a 15-12 game.

In the fourth Joel Bouagnon (Northern Illinois) scored on a one yard dive, after the call was changed by the replay official.
Woodrum completed the two pint conversion pass to El to make this a 23-12 game. El would have a total of 8 catches, 90 yards and 1 TD.
A Folk 45 yard field goal, with :24 left made the final 23-15.

Salt Lake thoughts.
Josh Woodrum 21-32 178 yards 1 TD.
Numbers look decent but he had no deep game and missed several open receivers.
Joel Bouagnon 13 carries, 50 yards 1TD and Oliver are a nice 1-2 punch.

Arizona thoughts.
Ross had 6 catches 51 yards and 1 TD.
