Former Brown Josh Gordon is taking time off with the Pats to deal with a so called mental issue. Rumors are that he will be looking at another suspension from the NFL. When he was picked up by the Pats he was portrayed at finally being at the right place. Now not even making it to the end of the season. You can't help someone who does not want to help themselves.

Browns are just a few plays away from being 12-3, think about that a second. 1 FG or less in each game.
19-17 loss to the Bills.
Tie to Pittsburg
21-18 loss to the Saints
45-42 loss to the Raiders
26-23 loss to Tampa

Just take 3 of those 5 games they should have won and they are 10-4-1 or 10-5.

The Browns now become spoiler by controlling who wins the Division. Beat Baltimore for the second time and the Steelers win the division. Lose to Baltimore and the Ravens are division champions. That’s assuming the Steelers don’t stumble to the imploding Bungals.

Should the Browns beat the Ravens they will have swept the Bengals and Ravens and tied the Steelers for a 4-1-1 division record, not too shabby.

Browns have to keep building on this success.

If a win can’t knock out the Steelers then a win knocking out the ravens is even better !!

GO BROWNS!!!

Oh crap Haslam is getting word out on who he would like as coach. Josh McDaniels and Miami Coach Adam Case. Neither would be a good fit in Cleveland.

I think at this point, I'm in for giving Williams a shot. Players seem to love him, and play hard for him.

I hadn't heard this. Where was it reported? If so, it shows Jimmy may be jealous of Dorsey's good publicity. I've always said Jimmy wants to be Jerr-uhh.

I saw it on MSN not sure who wrote it, I knew that Haslam was really high on McDaniels before as well as Case. Maybe it was just bringing up names from the past to write a story. Former Pats coaches have not done well on their own so far.
Williams has done well after Hue. Is that him or the group of coaches getting away from Hue working with the players they had. The defense has gotten better as his son is calling the plays on defense. Who is an up in coming coach. Which will allow him to be the head coach. As the other coaches coach. Hue seemed to find ways to lose games while there. With this group of coaches working together as a team. Would it be better for the players than to start over with a new systems.Still need to know if he can keep coaches or if other head coaches are hired will any of the assistants be offered jobs elsewhere. Since they would rather take a job than wait for an offer that may not be coming from whoever is hired at the Browns.

Tomlin may be out there also?

Saw on a pregame show that Tomlin is safe but that could change. Many are saying that Williams is not the choice for Dorsey. Heard that HArbaugh has not signed his contract with Baltimore. That some teams are looking at trading for him. I haven't heard this but to bring him in then let Williams run the Defense and Kitchen the Offense. With Harbaugh managing things that could work. Maybe Ozzie makes a trade to his former team as they have extra draft picks.

The Harbaugh thing would be tough. Can't see them willfully allowing him to go to a rising division rival. Also, don't think any of the current coaches would stay. Would Dorsey bring in Arians for a couple of years until Kitchens is ready?

The wildcard is Ozzie played there and is leaving also. Not that it would happen but could work. The big thing in keeping some of the coaches they have now is that another team hires a head coach quick and offers an assistant job to Browns assistants.
Ariens would be a good choice giving Ktichens time to learn even more. To continue his relationship with Mayfield. That would maybe get a chance for Williams and son to stay on defense.
With a lot of coaches going to be let go Dorsey has had a chance to evaluate who would be a good fit for now and the future. Can't want to long to make that choice and miss out.

If you hire another coach as head coach, you can't keep Williams around. It would be like Buddy Ryan staying with the 85 Bears when they hired Ditka. Could it work? Possibly but the locker room would be split and it just wouldn't work in the long run. Make a choice, not a compromise.

True but gives options. The Browns players are a little different now. This would give Williams and his son more time to deal with just the defense. As Harbaugh handles management of the team. Harbaugh has shown he can work with a variety of coaches over the years. One thing about Williams is not hearing his name being mentioned as a head coach elsewhere. Knowing what players he has with the Browns may give him the best chance to move into a head coaching job later. Williams was not the coach giving Hue a headache like Haley. Would really depend on how they interact with each other before being hired. As well as Williams mind set of thinking he will be a head coach again or just an assistant. Sure good to look at different options then to just fall in love with one coach and not see potential problems.

Well based on the game in progress right now, I have to see his defense stop the run.

Williams is making a statement that he will not be back. He could be making a point to be head coach by allowing the Ravens a big led. As the Browns make a major comeback to when the game. Or not.

Heartbreaker. What could have been if a few calls during the season went our way and we didn't have Hue "The Swimmer" Jackson for another year. Jimmy, PLEASE let Dorsey pick his own coach. Man, can't wait for next season.
