Columbus Clippers(Indians) 2 Toledo Mudhens(Tigers) 00

I watched this one on Spectrum sports channel and it was the first time the Clippers won, when on TV and in the process they ended the six game winning streak that Toledo had going.

Shawn Morimando (W, 8-5) went the distance giving up 7 hits and striking out 6. He allowed just one walk.

Columbus scored single runs in the 8th and the 9th.
Nellie Rodriguez hitting just .140 blasted his 10th home run of the season. He's a lot like Dave Kingman, home run or strike out.

Columbus got another run on a double play ball.

Matthew Boyd (L, 3-1)

Mahoning Valley Scrappers 2 (Indians) Auburn Doubleday 0(Washington 15 Innings

The Scrappers (9-5) have all of a sudden seem to be a team with a lot of pitching potential and this game, all of that pitching was needed. The offense, for both teams had produced zero runs after 14 innings of play.

In the 15th the Scrappers plated two huge runs. The first run came home in a base hit by,Samad Taylor . Run number two came in on a Jesse Berardi hit.

For the game the Scrappers did have 13 hits, but never could get the big hit to score any runs before the final inning.

The Doubledays (3-11) had 8 hits in this one. Paul Panaccione (Grand Canyon) and
Branden Boggetto (South West Missouri State) each had two of them.

The Scrappers got a 4 hit game from, Jesse Berardi (St. Johns) and a 3 hit game from,Ulysses Cantu (Boswell, Saginaw, TX)

Kirk McCarty (W, 2-0)
Ping-Hsueh Chen (S, 2)

Columbus Clippers (Indians) 6 Indianapolis Indians) (Pirates) 5

Clippers (44-40)won again lat night and did so on TV again.
This one had a lot more offense then the night before, as the scores shows.

Columbus logged in early with three runs in the bottom of the first.
After singles by Michael Martinez and Tyler Naquin 37 year old catcher Erik Kratz homers (12) to put the good guys u[ 3-0.

First place Indianapolis struck back with a single run in the top of the fourth.
Jarrett Grube left the game because of an injury, so the Clippers were forced to go the the bullpen and bring in Cole Sulser.
Danny Ortiz doubled (15) to greet Sulser.
Jordan Luplow plated him with a RBI single.

Columbus answered in the bottom half of the fourth, with a single run of their own.
Daniel Robertson singles, move to second on a ground out. He then swiped third base and scored on a Ronny Rodriguez ground out, to make it A 4-1 game.

The Indians would score another single run in the sixth.
Jordan Luplow (2) blasted a solo home run and we had a 4-2 game.

The Clippers struck back in the bottom of the inning, with what turned out to be two huge runs.
Giovanny Urshela walked and then came around two score on a long home run by,Ronny Rodriguez (7) Ronnie Rod, as he is called by the announcers is now hitting .273 is making it hard for Cleveland not to start to take notice of him.

Heading to the ninth, Columbus held the 6-2 lead and the game looked well in hand. But when you 18-20 at home, things never seems to go as one might think it will.

Eric Wood walked to open things up.
With one out Eury Perez walked to bring up Starling Marte. All he did was blast his first long ball of the season, at this level and the game was 6-5.
Tyler Olson came in and got the next two batters to close this one out.

Kyle Crockett (W, 2-2)
Drew Hutchison (L, 4-4)
Tyler Olson (S, 2)

I have not posted much lately but I have been listening almost daily to games.

Columbus Clippers(54-45) Cleveland 5 Syracuse Chiefs (34-64) Washington

Columbus has taken over first place since the last time I posted on them.
Yesterday the Clippers eked out a one run win over a poor Syracuse squad.
Columbus scored the winning run in the eighth inning, on a Michael Martinez single to center field.Since joining the Clippers, Martinez has five RBI.

The Chiefs took a 2-0 lead, in their half of the third inning.
Michael Almanza singled with one out.
Andrew Stevenson blast his 2nd bomb of the season, a two run shot. That would be the only hit for Stevenson, in his five trips to the plate.

The Clippers responded with four of their own, in the bottom of the fourth.
Ronny Rodriguez singled, a infield hit to shortstop. Ronnie Rod has to be getting some interest from the Indians front office. He is very solid and plays multiple positions and plays them all well. Rodriguez steals (8) 2nd base.

Michael Martinez walked to out two on, with just one out.
Both runners took off and both were safe. Stolen base 9 for Ronnie Rod and number 1 for Martinez.

Adam Moore homers (6), a three run shot to put the Clippers up 3-2.
Tyler Naquin homers (7) and this had become a 4-2 Columbus lead.

Syracuse scored two in the sixth to lock things back up at four.
The first run came on a homer by,Clint Robinson homers (14),
Clippers starter, and my favorite Columbus pitcher, Jarrett Grube was pulled one batter later, after giving up a single to,Brandon Snyder.
Grube was replace by Shawn Armstrong, who gave up back to back walks to load the bases. The tying run scored on a force out by,Michael Almanzar.

Kyle Crockett (W, 5-3)
Sammy Solis (L, 1-3)
Louis Head (S, 4)
