Best case scenario, they are contenders 3 years from now. Or beginning their Nth rebuild.

Sounds like Garrett at #1 is a foregone conclusion. Unless they are driving up the value to trade down.

I'm close to the Browns and one theme has reared its ugly head over the years...................................................... cheapskates . Poor ownership has killed off a diamond. Sure, they lay out the bucks for a marquee player, a star but shortchange everything else. He , they watched star after star leave the organization without making a solid effort to keep them. Then wnoder why it takes so long to develope or find a star replacement, producing another hole in the team. Stockpiling draft picks ? They'll trade them away and move down to cheaper players. Cleveland sucks from poor owners who have fired many capable coaches and front off guys who move on to produce good teams. Belicheck ring a bell ? And the latest "gimmick" will bite them in the butt -- "Moneyball" with a former basball guy finding inexpensive ( read CHEAP ) players to "build" with. Crap organization that makes a TON of money from dumbazz fans.

Read an article about the GM the Browns let go before the Draft of Manziel. He said Manziel was not even on the draft board. Then the owner wanted Manziel. He had no idea why the Browns drafted Manziel except for Haslam. When the owner wants something he gets it. But that is not good football decision. Which is why he then said don't be surprised if Haslam drafts a QB at #1.

Talk about the Browns #1. To high for a QB who played just 1 year in college. Could be just talk or Haslam wanting him after not taking Wentz last year. As well as the other teams wanting Trubisky before the Browns pick at #12

Browns made some moves and picked up 3 players that will play this year. All three can be game changers.
Then the rumor about maybe getting Cousins at QB from Washington. The Redskins think they will lose him in a year may try to get something for him now.

That was a quality first round for the Browns, and I say that as a Steelers fan. Two solid defensive players and a pass catcher.

Browns release 10 year vet TE Gary Barnidge. Who had 55 catches last year. Broncos players are wanting him.

Drafting Kiser in the second round. Could send him to Washington for Cousins. Keep options open.

Picked up a lot of players that can play now. With filling needs. The QB position has no clear starter. Kiser is not ready yet. But whoever is the QB will have an improved O Line, RB's and Receivers. That will help the QB's that got abused last year. As well as help on defense. Should be a better year for the Browns

Not a fan of cleveland but from a far sight they torethis draft up. their first five picks could be starters and if brantley pans out thats 6

It's kind of like a bad tattoo from younger days. It just stays with you and getting rid of it hurts too much! :o
