Oakley claims that the security at MSG was giving him a hard time for even being there, at the game, in the first place.

While that may sound a little hard to believe, it is pretty well-known among NBA diehards that James Dolan (the owner of the Knicks) is a neurotic, narcissistic person that does not like to be criticized privately or publicly. As an owner, he is absolutely terrible. There has been mounting pressure for years among Knicks fans put on Dolan to put out a team that can win a championship (or, at the very least make the playoffs.) I follow the big four sports leagues pretty well and know pretty much the state of affairs for most teams, and I would argue the Knicks under Dolan's leadership has been one of the worst management situations I have seen.

Now... where does the above paragraph tie into what happened? Well, Phil Jackson can't seem to shut up about anything this past year and says some dumb things and, with the drama surrounding Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson, it's pretty much determined the Knicks are going to have another awful year. Oakley is upset with Phil Jackson and he is even more upset and disappointed with regards to Dolan's ownership of the Knicks. I can understand why: he was a great player and one of the best ever to play for the Knicks. As to his physical behavior last night, the tape I saw suggested that the security guards put their hands on him before he even did anything physical or intimidating. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but if I'm spending the kind of money for the ticket he paid for and dressed up nice, even if I'm having a few choice words for someone the last thing I would want is for a crowd of people to put their hands on my shoulders and try to "contain" me because that's only going to escalate the situation further.

Many different stories and spins get put on this to know what factually happened. Hard to imagine someone would dress up like Oak did to get thrown out. Some say Oak was upset to not be involved in the 70 year celebration that the Knicks are doing. Then as some of the former team mates would say Oak did not go looking for a fight but sure would not back down when confronted. To add to that owner Dolan not liking people saying anything bad about him seating so close to Oak.

Bottom line anyone who has to suffer to watch the knicks is cruel punishment.

Looked to me like Oak come ready for a fight! Security probably was just doing what they were told to do by putting their hands on him and escorting him out then he got combative and unruly. What happened before that is the real unknown and might never be known, but a lot of people around there had to see if he yelled at him or not and warranted being thrown out.Oakley says he didn't but of course he will say that .Agree that team is horrible to watch and their next door neighbor is even worse. Thank God the Cavs didn't want anything to do with Anthony! Is this the same Dolan family that owns the Indians? They are doing some good things up there.

I have no idea what actually happened. saw a short clip on tv, where it appears like he poked somebody in the face and pushed another. and it appeared both were being very controlled and non combative. other than that have never actually heard anything.

Now the owner of the Knicks, Dolan fires the head of security at MSG. Bans Oakley from MSG.
Knicks say one thing and have people in the stands there to confirm it. Which doesn't mean it is fact with Dolan and his money. Then Oakley saying completely different. True or not this is another professional team where the owner puts himself infront of the team. The Knicks have one of the best young players on the team. With a big time scorer. It is about the drama instead of team basketball on and off the court.

They said McEnroe was shocked but he hasn't said much about it to the media. The reason for firing the chief, Dolan said Oakley should have never made it to his seat coming to the arena drunk and disorderly with an agenda.Sad situation all the way around!
