Castillo looks good. 97-98 FB and a good change.
Where has he been all season?
They have been throwing guys who cannot break a pane of glass.

Jackson Stephens made his ML debut yesterday. He pitched really well, punched out 8 through 5 innings, giving up 3 ER all in one inning. He also hit a single up the middle to give the Reds the lead. Was encouraging to see someone come up from the minors and not get rocked, also won the game.

It's an awesome batting lineup. They just only have 4 pitchers who are worth their salaries with 3 being relievers.

If Hamilton can get on with less than 2 outs, he's going to score. Cozart is really good and even better with Votto protecting him. Votto is the best hitter in the NL and has been since 2010. Votto getting protection from Duvall's big bat is huge. Schebler and Suarez have nice pop that makes it harder to pitch around Duvall. Both catchers are going to give you solid ABs. Peraza is the low man, but he showed last season that he can hit a bit. Then you have Scooter as a utility man who can hit.

The pitching is just so bad. They need Descalfani to get and stay healthy and then add at least one more arm to make noise later this year or next, because as of now, the Central is up for grabs.

I thought the Cueto trade awhile back was to bring a number of good young arms into the organization. In retrospect, was the reason to dump salary?

I doubt it, since Finnegan is completely a major leaguer and Reed will be once he figures some things out. Getting 2 pretty solid lefties in exchange for a rental in Cueto was a great deal and the 3rd lefty was really good until injuries derailed his career. They chose poorly when they decided to spend the money on Bailey instead of Cueto, but that happens from time to time when you're a small market team.

I wish I hated anything as much as you hate the Reds lol

It was a great move. Cueto wasn't resigning, so he got 3 players out of it, 2 of which still have bright futures.

Heck, if I had the same mentality as you, I'd be furious at Theo and Jed Hoyer for trading away a multi time All Star pitcher while he was in the minors for a guy they flipped for 3 solid, if unspectacular relief pitchers. Or trading away a multi time All Star 2B who has won a gold glove and led the NL in BA for a guy they cut within 3 months.

No GM makes the best move 100% of the time.

That's why you got to get the best man for the job ! Small market team ! Know room for 2nd guessing ! But to tell me !'m wrong no way money has ruin the game and the old GM that is in his 70's plus to run the show ? It's over now .

Castillo was dominate on Saturday night. 6 2/3 shutout innings with eight K's. What took these idiots so long to bring this kid up? His minor league stats are above average for his career. Votto, Tucker and Scooter go deep.
