NBA Hall of Famer Nate Thurmond Passes

Post by Omega »

Ohio native and NBA great Nate Thurmond has died. Another blue collar type whose signature was consistent defense and not flash. Enjoyed listening to Joe Tait (Ohio U and Logan ties) broadcasting Cavalier games when Thurmond was on the team with Jim Cleamons. RIP Mr. Thurmond.

I never knew Joe Tait had Logan ties. He was one of a kind, never be another one like him.He says he don't even watch Cavs games these days, but did watch game 7 because he had a feeling they would win.BTW RIP Nate Thurmond!

Tait was a sports announcer for Ohio U. and did a few area high school games. He did some guest shots on Cleveland radio call in sports shows and on occasion would mention Logan. I believe this was when the Shaw boys played for the Chieftains back in the late 60's.
