Re: 2016 Cincinnati Redlegs
He's played in all but 9 games, is a top 5 defensive SS, is #1 in all of baseball on routine plays, and has an amazingly affordable contract. Oh and he's hitting the ball harder than he ever has, with more line drives as well.
The Reds should try to extend him this offseason. He's still going to be relatively cheap and is still young enough. A 3 year extension would be perfect, although he could want more than that since that would put him at his age-35 season as a FA.
The Mariners will be out on him and the market for SS will be small. The Phillies, Padres, and Twins are the ones off the top of my head that I think could make a solid offer for him.

Re: 2016 Cincinnati Redlegs
Homer Bailey endeared himself to the Reds with his comments today about the GM and his teammates. The worst part, IMO, is that he doesn't seem to realize that his contract is a decent part of their problem up until now.
Huge walk off shot tonight after Mike Matheny pulled one of the worst managerial moves this year (letting Oh bat with the bases loaded in the 8th + his inability to figure out the double switch)
Btw, since May 5th, Joey Votto has been the best hitter in baseball. Just thought I would toss this out for no real reason.

Agree that Price is terrible, but you can also only manage the cards your dealt. Jocketty is not a terrible GM, is he the best in the MLB? Not at all, but I wouldn't say he is terrible. Votto is tearing the cover off the ball lately, BA up to .293, was like .250 at the break I think. They are playing good baseball right now.

Big win for the Reds last night. I know they can't make it back but Hope they can move up some before the end.

Can't believe you say that about the GM ? He got his money ! He made to many bad decisions when contracts was on the line! Wish Bruce the best but 0-4 in his first start strikes out twice .

Re: 2016 Cincinnati Redlegs
I don't see how you can say that about the GM. I never said he was the best in baseball or anything like that. All those good Cardinal teams, he built those teams. Those good teams the Reds had from I think 2010-2012, he helped build those teams. So clearly he knows what he is doing. He might have mad a few bad choices in contracts but he isn't terrible by any stretch of the imagination.

The Reds won again this afternoon over the Cardinals, 7-0. They are tearing it up right now. They've won all 6 series since the All-Star break.

Bailey is actually pitching well for how long he's been completely out of the game. I'm pretty happy with his pitching in his first couple games.

As a Cubs fan, I think I can safely say that I hate the Reds after tonight. I'm just glad the Cardinals are awful or this would be 10x more annoying than it already is.
