On Friday night, the Reds defeat the Cleveland Baseball Team 10-3 to open the first round of the Ohio Cup. Reds stand 8-5 and hold a one game lead over the Brew Crew in the NL Central. Cincy is 6 and 1 at home.

Sonny Gray is off of the DL and is scheduled to start today for Cincy. If Gray can remain healthy and effective, maybe the Reds good start will not be a mirage.

Yeah, he has to sit for two games. The film evidence is clear cut he caused the incident. The injustice is that Yadier Molina was not suspended for his retalitory actions. Still, since Castellanos' actions seemed to have motivated the Reds in getting off to a good start, I do not think the Reds and their fans should be upset over the suspension.

Well, the Reds have lost two straight in extra innings to Arizona. Good starting pitching efforts wasted by the bullpen. After a 6-1 start, Cincy has lost 7 out of their last ten and have fallen out of first place. Still 9-8 is much better than their usual 0 for April start.

Until they get a manager that has some fire and knows how to coach in close ballgames , sad to say, they will be near the bottom of standings by JULY.
