Should have stayed in a conference. Still had plenty of opportunities to play quality non conference schools. When ironton and portsmouth were independent in the mid to late 90s they had to play each other twice in the regular season. No incentive to play ironton if you are a local team. With 12 teams getting in. All you need to do is go 8-2 7-3 against whoever else. scheduling is a nightmare and when you are not state caliber, which will be more often then not. A tough schedule week in and out is hard. Louisville, ohio was kicked out of their div 2/3 conference after a state appearance or two. They have struggled as an independent since with the murderers row schedule they have to play.
