NY going for a share of TVC title number 26. As Jim McCumber says, it will be a good ole good one at Boston Field.

Nelsonville ain’t nearly as good as that record shows. VC been hitting in pads since February and just kicking they chops waiting for this game! VC in a blowout

Both schools come in with identical records. Both lost their week one games that could have ended either way. How long has it been since VC has defeated N-Y ?

I’ll be coming over the hill for this one. Definitely ain’t driving to Waterford just to watch the Tomcats play for second place in the Hocking.
Good luck NY!

This is the week we’ve all been waiting for! I just wish BMG Meida was able to steam it from Boston Field on Friday night.

Me too, it would be nice to be able to catch this game, but Boston Field is Nelsonville Cable territory, so it is not going to happen. I think the Vikings pull this one off, in a very close game. Good luck to both teams!

This one’s gonna be just about as close as you can get. I don’t think NY has played an offense as good as VC all year and I don’t think VC has played a defense like NY has all year.

#20RB is still back there and will make you pay if you forget it. VC has so many offensive weapons at their disposal it’s hard to cover that many kids and many teams have first hand knowledge of that fact this year. #76OL, in my opinion, might be one of the best if not the best offensive linemen to come out of the TVC in many years. He certainly has the drive to push the rest of the OL to play their best. #15QB rarely makes a mistake so you better capitalize if he does.

NY’s defense is stingy and has speed all over the field. If you ever wondered what it would be like to see 11 Indy cars racing on a high school football field this is as close as it gets. #1LB is everywhere. If he’s not making the play he’s involved in it. He’s a heat seeking missile and the only way to slow him down is to use multiple personnel. #18DB is always a playmaker. If you throw or kick the ball into his area of operation there’s a high probability you’re going to pay for it. #73DL will make you work to slow him down. He has a Big Block Chevy motor doesn’t shut off for 48 minutes.

This is going to be a chess match unless one or multiple things happen. One coaching staff figures the others out.. NY’s offense makes huge mistakes.. or VC’s defense makes big mistakes. Adjustments at the right time will be one of the keys to a win and the least amount of giveaways wins this game.

Wish it was Friday.

Great game between 2 excellent teams. 38-30 Vinton County Vikings win TVC Ohio.

Year three of VC trying to beat NY for the TVC-Ohio Championship.

If VC comes out and doesn’t have stupid mistakes, penalties and can contain #1 for NY, they’ll win by two scores.

If VC comes out and does what they’ve done a few times this year where they had penalties every drive or lose the turnover battle, it’ll be a tough night for the Vikings.

I believe this group of seniors at VC is tired of coming in second place and will come out prepared to do whatever it takes to finally bring home a TVC Championship back to The County.

Vinton county would have to play really bad to lose this one. I think they can line up and mash ny all night. Be a shock to me if the Vikings don’t take this one

NY has the best coach in TVC Ohio. I believe if VC doesn't buy into their own hype and keep their heads on straight that they should win but it will be very close with very little room for error.

I am picking the Vikings but should be a great game.

The last time VC won the TVC Ohio in football..

Bill Clinton was president of the United States.
Everyone was gearing up for Y2K.
The first Hairy Potter BOOK was released in the US.
Tiger Woods won his FIRST PGA championship.
Wayne Gretzky retired.
Apple started selling the MAC G4 PC. (The one with the different colored back monitor)
We were downloading music on NAPSTER.
SpongeBob was brand new.
We all had VHS players.
Most people had over the air antenna’s to watch tv.
Most kids had a Tamagotchi in their pocket.
Varsity Blues was in theaters.
Gas was $1.22 a gallon.
Brittney Spears, Lou Bega and the Backstreet Boys topped the charts.
The singing Big Mouth Billy Bass was released.
Vinton County was still in the old high school that was built in 1913 and played their home games at the old stadium.

Very long time for the 2nd biggest school in the Ohio. Think with over 100 boys more than most teams your playing you would win more often

VC is only about 30 kids larger than Meigs, Alexander and River Valley. Another 20 larger than Wellston. NY is about 100 less but that’s it. So most teams isn’t a correct statement. You may have VC confused with Athens.
