Warren 55 - 12 Alexander 2022

Post by beg003 »

Thoughts on this one? I think Warren should win rather comfortably but I am also just basing that opinion off scores between common opponents.

Meant to tell you this on the other thread, but your broadcast of the game on YouTube was extremely well done. Professional and knowledgeable about the game. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Warren can win this game but I don’t see a blowout. They have kids injured which affects what they can do offensively.

We’re more than capable of making this closer than it needs to be but Vinton put 40 some on them. Williams should play and if he does, we win comfortably.

I wouldn’t compare Vinton game at all. They lost their SR QB early in the Warren game and were moving the ball effectively when he went down. I believe he scored their first TD in that game too. I’m guessing he played the majority of the Alexander game but no idea. Vinton was completely out of it after that injury. I’ll take Warren being at home but it will be close. The win will make them undefeated against TVC teams for 2 straight years. Haha

He had the big run early but that was the only time they moved it really well. They only played a half with the backup and I didn’t notice much of a difference to be honest. I think strength of schedule will factor into this one too. Alex runs a lot of the same concepts as Cambridge, but they aren’t even close to as good. I like where we’re going with the run game, we just need to keep working on it. Getting in shootouts is not how we’ll win. Cambridge would have scored 50 if we put the ball in the air and not possessed the ball for chunks of time.

The QB went down right before halftime. VC’s TD drive was the first possession with the QB breaking a 39-yard run. He had 7 carries for 7 yards outside of that.

On their only other sustained drive with the starting QB, he didn’t run or pass the ball until the last play of the drive when he threw a short pass on 4th down that gave Warren the ball back. They had 3 three and outs with negative yardage and got one first down otherwise.

VC scored on its first possession of the 2nd half with the backup and the yardage was pretty similar in both halves (121 / 109). In fact, their most productive quarter was the 3rd (103 yards). VC’s defense also held Warren to just 30 yards in the 2nd half (the score was 20-7 when the QB went down), so really, VC actually played better overall after they lost the QB, seemingly a bit inspired but were already in the hole. Definitely NOT completely out of it.

The Warriors have owned the TVC as of late... now we know why they won't let us in!

Cause Alex Meigs and Belpre are stiff competition.

Not sure there's a team in the entirety of the TVC I would call "stiff" competition.
