In the blink of an eye Waverly was down 28-0. The Tigers could never recover from it.
BC was by far the fastest and most athletic team we faced all year. Once we settled down we had some success to the tune of winning the total yardage and time of possession battle but that doesn’t translate into a victory.
Two costly turnovers (one a direct TD - returned 60 yds for the score), a bad snap on a punt that gave BC the ball at the 5 and a TD next play and Waverly not cashing in with any points with the ball at the BC 10 twice was not the recipe for a good outcome.

Waverly with a very very good season considering all the injuries we came into the season with and Shanks playing the entire year with a torn ACL - that’s insane. He threw for over 2,000 yds, 19 TD’s with a torn ACL and unable to scramble or run. Shoemaker shattering the season rushing record with over 2,300 yds and 32 TD’s.
Will Futhey over 1,100 yds receiving at 14 TD’s, just a sophomore.
Gonna be fun to get this group back together next year.
This years Tigers has raised the level of expectancy.

Good season for Waverly, shoemaker was a treat to watch! Qb played on a torn ACL all year ??? That just blows my mind that anyone would let a kid play with a torn ACL, High school sports is not that important......just my two cents :?:

It was a one score game midway through the fourth quarter. Alder went ahead two scores and then Carroll started forcing a few things and threw a couple of pick sixes.

Alder's the real deal. Bloom-Carroll is playing really well right now and Waverly had a good season, but that many mistakes in Week 12 isn't going to end well.

A really nice season for Waverly. This team overcame a fair amount of adversity and they sure were fun to watch. Going to miss the seniors. The Tigers return the majority of starters on both sides of the ball. Next year should be a good one.
Was
Bloom the best team waverly
Played all year ?
Far and away from what I seen last night, BC puts a running clock on any opponent Waverly played this year. I seriously have no idea how Amanda beat them, then again league play breeds familiarity. Heard the QB for BC was headed to eastern Illinois.
BC wouldn't put a running clock on every team Waverly played this year!! Sure they are good, but that comment is out of bounds. Athens, Unioto, Wheelersburg, Minford to start with plus you already stated Amanda beat them who Waverly put a running clock on!!

Unioto, Minford, burg all would've had running clocks. Amanda plays in their league so very familiar with each other that's why. Athens might be only one. None of those teams had the overall team speed to handle BC and QB for BC would've torched them, he's only D1 QB but what do I know. They only moved it at will against Waverly.

First off, congrats to Bloom Carroll and good luck to them against Licking Valley.

Second, congratulations to Waverly for being a week twelve team. The Tigers overcame adversity and turned what could have been a 5-5 season into nine wins and a playoff berth. Waverly's three losses should be a blueprint for needed improvement going forward.

Finally, thanks go out to Smurray, OldTiger, Greygoose and all the others who have provided updates on the Waverly program and games all season long.
