Newark Catholic and Reedsville Eastern played only one time in a Regional Quarter final played at Eastern. Newark Catholic won 34-12.

2000 - Eastern was #3 seed in region (9-1) and NC was #6 (6-4) that year in regular season.

Yes I remember this very well, Me and Coach Poth were taking the equipment truck down there and we kind of knew where were going and had no problem getting there. The charter bus was following us, when we went through Athens somehow the bus missed the turn it was suppose to take. The Coaching Staff were in another car driving down. Coach Buchanan got there and asked where's the bus because it was following us. I told him it missed the turn that we took. Some of our fans said they saw it circling OU.The Equipment manager was in the bus and giving the driver directions somehow the bus circled the Ohio University five times before finally getting on the right road to Reedsville. The bus finally got there 30 minutes before the kickoff it was real fun getting everybody ready to play.

I do remember N.C. played them in 1993. That game got real ugly early the score was 77-6. Newark Catholic leads the series 2-0.

Yep that was a ugly year.League folded and we had to find games.Played Matewan WVa That year and they won Class A State Title.Their fans were upset and wanted to fight because we didn’t give them a good game.Needless to say I am not going to Matewan anytime soon.

This will be an ugly game and has a chance of being a mercy rule game. NC is way better against a much tougher schedule .

BTW, Brian Cross was a Warren guy who came back home as Canton McKinleys HC to play Warren Harding. Decent coach.

That is correct, we were driving in the 4th quarter and made a few costly errors. And yea, NC had scouted us twice late in the season at Eastern. But when they showed up for the playoff game just 20 minutes before kickoff, they claimed they had been driving around Reedsville looking for the stadium.
