WK 11: Gallia Academy (9-1) @ Waverly (8-2)

Post by MisterGalliaGuy2016 »

IT IS TIME FOR PLAYOFF FOOTBALL, FOLKS!

After a 9-1 regular season, with a second-place finish in the OVC, the Blue Devils head west to face the Waverly Tigers!

This game should feature two of the area's most explosive backs in Shoemaker and Armstrong.

Both teams also feature a proficient pass attack.
Which defense can get the stops when needed?
Which SEO school will represent in week 12?

Can't bet against my Devils at this point in the game.

GA 42
Waverly 35

Best of luck to all involved, and safe driving to all the faithful attending what should be a DANDY!

Hopefully gallia has everyone healthy for this one if so I believe they get the win even without Armstrong I think this team can score but it sure makes things easier when you have him

Interesting matchup.

I could see either winning.

I’ll guess Waverly 34-27

If gallia has Armstrong back and can put together some long drives to keep Waverly offense off the field I like there chances. Like if Waverly scores under 30 gallia wins but if it’s a shootout I feel like Waverly might win

The game is Saturday correct?
As for the game, no matter what day it is
Shoemaker is a STUD! Shanks is not 100% (not getting into that on here) has showed toughness all year. At Fairland you could tell it killed him not being on that field.
I think Waverly's offense can score with anyone. So give me a track meet and I like the Tigers.
It's Raidiger Field and it's the playoffs Tigers win 48-32

Not sure who to take in this one, sort of a pick-em type of game. The GA against Ironton has me thinking Waverly, and I gotta take the SOC, and gotta take the home team I suppose, so 42-35 Tigers.

If gallia just doesn’t let the shoemaker kid go crazy I like there chances. I was at the gallia vs Portsmouth and gallia vs ironton game and gallipolis looked like two different teams. Granted Armstrong didn’t play against ironton and I feel that’s why they got shutout but if the devils play solid defense like I saw them play against the Trojans then I think they can win

Not sure what to make of this game. Could be a track meet as everyone is predicting. And it is very dependent on Shanks health

Shoemaker is a slick back to tackle and for 160 he bounces off tackles also. Shanks is a good QB but has been hurt most the season with couple good receiver that waverly balances the offense well. I haven’t seen Gallia Academy but they did play two team that they went 1-1 against in Portsmouth and Ironton. I believe waverly has played the better schedule and is tested better. Waverly by 14.

Waverly 31 Gallia 21
Waverly has played the tougher schedule, and playing at home, the Tigers should come out on top in this one. If Waverly takes care of business they should be playing the winner of the 2 vs 7 matchup.

Tigers def not worried about who they would play in round two. Have to focus on round 1 and round 1 only.
