NAL? New League Forming

Post by Ironman92 »

Neighbors Athletic League

ADs talking and this league is gaining steam. Would be a 6 team league and could affect the efficiencies of several other leagues.

Member schools in discussion:

Marietta
Miami Trace
Miller
Manchester
Ironton
Huntington Ross

Not sure if these natural rivals would ask Logan to join or not.

Are you saying that they wouldn't at least consider Athens and Logan as charter members, and possibly have an 8 team league?

Marietta says no to Athens, claiming city is too ugly compared to theirs

I usually have an answer, but I'm just completely caught off guard by your answer. Dumbfounded would probably be more accurate.

Their words not mine. In Marietta’s defense it is a really pretty city. If it weren’t in Pennsylvania I’d be more apt to have kids get out of class in 6th period and hop on the bus to go there.

I just hope that you keep everybody updated as to there meetings, and to the progress being made. I'm sure that if other schools names come into play, that you will share that information also.

Word on the street is Ironton is really pushing to get Minford in the league and drop Huntington to keep a consistent M school for the last 5 games.

Couple questions as I want to make sure it's not the teams I'm thinking of and there's different ones out there for this to make sense to me. Manchester and Huntington Ross?? Also why in the world would Miami Trace take on that much drive time?? I thought the FAC was strong and well and now you've got Miami Trace leaving.

Manchester to Huntington Ross is only 1 hr 30 min bus ride.

FAC is strong but Miami Trace wants a league that is winnable for their bowling team.

NAL would be the premiere bowling league in Ohio hands down .

Nah, Miller and Ironton are weaker bowling schools.

Sadly that part of it seems to be falling through.

I heard this afternoon that a couple SOC schools, I'm not at liberty to say SOC-1 or 2, once they got wind of the bowling, are attempting to set up some kind of a special meeting sometime this week. This thing has really taken off like a wildfire.

Manchester is a clear favorite. I would try to get mentor or Massillon to have a few easy games and keep the M going.

no possible way ironton will be a party to this. why would they travel to Marietta. and they have no rivalries what soever with the others mentioned. this would be absolutely absurd.
