Started getting on SEOP way back when I was still in high school. I remember some kids talking about people posting about our team, checked it out and enjoyed it. Had terrible grammar and punctuation, got fired up when anyone would say anything negative about Portsmouth, because I was on the team obviously. I’ve tried to keep up as much as I can all these years later. Not many Portsmouth posters today like there was back then.

Another thing that hurt us SEOPS was banned in a lot of the school systems back in the early years because kids were on it all day.

I've only been here for 10 years and know real names aren't to be mentioned but while reading and seeing their posts over the years I would have guessed that both sportfolio and jottings were sportswriters for 2 prominent newspapers in Athens and Gallia counties for decades starting in the 60's. The Sunday newspapers (pre-internet) sports sections used to have 4 or 5 pages of sports and I couldn't wait to read them each week for SEO game breakdowns, pictures, etc. from the time I was a little tyke until I moved away 30 years ago.

I miss the days of Ironton and Logan posters going at each other when the two schools were in the SEOAL. I think there was a thread about Logan vs. Ironton football that had over 500 posts, with so many of them taking jabs at each other. I don't think there's ever been another thread like it. Now we have Wheelersburg and Ironton posters going at it, but it's just not quite the same as Logan vs. Ironton. It seemed like there was more bitterness about the latter two. I remember 2old would always remind Ironton posters about "Chieftain envy", to which Fighting Tigers posters would always remind them that IHS had won 2 state titles, with Logan having 0. Great social media theater. The Logan vs. Ironton threads may be the greatest in the history of SEOPS for just sheer entertainment.

Two other posters that I miss are Hitchbone64 and bmv4life from Chillicothe......I got to know them through SEOPS and when Portsmouth played Chillicothe in basketball. Very fine fellows.
