October 11, 2019 Gallia Academy 44 - 20 Coal Grove

Post by MisterGalliaGuy2016 »

This Week 7 matchup brings the Coal Grove Hornets up Route 7 to face the Gallia Academy Blue Devils at Memorial Field.

Coal Grove is coming off a two touchdown loss to the Portsmouth Trojans.

Can they right the ship against Gallia Academy, who currently rides a 6 game win streak, seemingly on a crash course with longtime rival, Ironton?

Gut pick says Gallia Academy by 4 TDs. Running clock at some point.

This one will get ugly. Gallia by 4 scores or more. I really think gallia can beat Ironton.

Coal grove is better than what they have shown. Gallipolis will see everyone’s best shot.

I think it could be a 28-13 type game but a 40-7 running clock game is very reasonable

I'm afraid that the Blue Devils will take the "sting" out of the Hornets this coming week-end. Lets hope that CG still has a little fight left in them, otherwise this one could go downhill pretty quick.

I’ll be very shocked if there’s a running clock. These boys won’t quit and allow a running clock. I feel this Coal Grove team has improved every week and shown improvement. The defensive line played great last week. Couple things go a different way last week and Coal Grove could’ve came away with a win.

Might be improved, but GA will still be too much. I expect the game to be approaching the running clock type of score mid-third quarter. If Penrod plays some second string guys, we won't see a running clock. If he waits till the 4th to get them in, we will see that clock rolling for a while.

Gallia not 30 points better....Won't be a running clock and Ironton will beat them and beat them easily IMHO

I doubt that The Blue Devils will be concerned about Ironton for a couple more weeks.

Does anyone think the Hornets can pull off the upset? I've seen much bigger upsets than this in highschool football. I remember in the early 90's Rock Hill was 0-9 playing a 9-0 Hornets team at Rock Hill and pulled the upset that knocked C.G. out of the playoffs! To this day that is the biggest upset I've seen in highschool football.

No upset here. Gallia is a good team. Good luck to both teams tonight.

I don't know if I've ever heard of that happening at the high school level with 9-0 & 0-9 teams. I know in some rivalry games It's throw out the records but not when you've played mostly the same opponents and league foes. That would have to be the best one I've ever heard of. :o
