Thought West improved greatly against the pass this week holding Waverly to around 100 yards, just couldn't tackle Shoemaker consistently.

Waverly didn't need to thrown the ball and Shanks only attempted 15 passes, 2 were dropped TDs.

By no means do we desire to demean West while they are down but they did not stop the pass. Shanks went out before halftime and I don’t think we ever threw a pass after that with our backup.
Before going out, Shanks was 8-15 for 111 yds and a TD. Two TD passes were dropped which would have been 10-15 and a couple others Shanks just missed. That leaves at most, 3 passes that West may have defended.

Coach Crabtree was very merciful and took his foot of the gas very early - it could have been very very ugly....

By no means do we desire to demean West while they are down but they did not stop the pass. Shanks went out before halftime and I don’t think we ever threw a pass after that with our backup.

Coach Crabtree was very merciful and took his foot of the gas very early - it could have been very very ugly....
Your coach seems to have alot of class.

If you saw the Raceland game that was improvement, especially against a team as skilled as Waverly. The defense starts mostly underclassmen including all underclassmen (2 freshmen) in the secondary. So that was improvement. West stopped them a few times, but we couldn't possess the ball and kept giving them field position. Your quarterback drops dimes, but some of those "drops" were solid defense.

Right, I know you guys are extremely young, that’s why I stated I wasn’t trying to demean you guys at all.

West is really young and I hear they have a really talented group of 8th graders so at least for the next couple years west could struggle a bit. However, there is definitely some light at the end of the tunnel if you are a west fan. For some teams there's always a year or 2 you have to take a thumping but you come out in the end reaping the rewards of the hard work those youngsters are putting in. Good Luck on the rest of the season.

Everyone knew West was gonna struggle at times this year. But there is alot of on the job training going on and as you said they should get some really skilled help next year. They won't be down long. Next year West will be better and 2 years they should be really good.

As far as this year, they won't quit and I think they may win a couple more before the year is up
