Yes they can IF the defense can tackle. Last night was rough and probably there worst game. It’s going to be really hard but it’s not impossible. Portsmouth has shown they are more than just a run team and I believe that helps them. At gallia it’s going to be rough.

Portsmouth offense is there so I work on defense more this week!! Portsmouth tackles too high and then goes for a ride. Hit low and ball carrier goes down on spot. Most big runs come after a Portsmouth player makes hit for no gain, loss or couple yards only to hit high and get 2nd or 3rd and manageable that hurts. This isn’t just this year but like 10 years. Whoever the Defense coordinator is needs to get these boys physical and hit low. There is no excuse because all teams go both ways in D-V. Good luck getting that done this week.

I think both teams' defenses are going to have a little trouble. The Trojans' defense had some issues upfront vs. Rock Hill. The Blue Devils may have some trouble covering Talyn on the ground and Drew Row both ground and Air. The Blue Devils O-Line is big and they have some offensive weapons of their own.

How do you see it playing out?

I think now we get the true test to see what the Trojans truly are. GA is tough and I think I like them in the trenches better than Trojans. Should be a good game going with GA by 8

I don't know man. This game could be a tough one for them. They have done a nice job the last couple of years isolating Parker, but Portsmouth has definitely improved offensively. If Vanco keeps improving and Williams keeps playing the way he is, they are going to be tough to stio at all. I think I like the Blue Devils, bit I think Portsmouth will give them a game.

GA 38
Portsmouth 28

Gallia has the defense to contain Parker. Gallia has some offensive explosion of their own.

I’ll take Gallia 22-8

Terrible match for Portsmouth. We saw what Valley did to Parker, except GA won’t turn ball over deep multiple times and give game away.

Parker will probably break 1. I could see him have an 80 yard run and then about 19 other runs for 30 yards

Armstrong will outshine him and has a much better all around team. We take this one 28-7

I like the Blue Devils by 3 TDs at home. Too much overall speed on defense. Parker will get his though.

Portsmouth struggles at the linebacker position. Armstrong should eat them up. Parker will eat but not enough. Gallia by 30

wow what a titanic battle at the halfway mark of the season. and at gahs in the pit. 2 unbeaten teams. 2 of the 3 prohibitive favorites to win the ovc. hit don't get much better than this. I think the blue boys may be too much for anyone right now in the ovc. and I don't say that sarcastically. or with any lack of respect to any ovc team. including my own team the fighting tigers, it just is what it is right now. and the tigers have to go to the pit as well. definitely everybody in the meat n taters of their schedules right now. the tigers had 4 huge turnovers against a very good Ashland team and mostly in the red zone of the tomcats. they cannot play like that and beat Portsmouth or gahs. so we need a major cleanup on aisle 3 there too. I think this one is much closer than what I'm seeing from other posters. course I thought we was gonna stomp a mudhole in Ashland Friday night too. so I done et my crow and got humbled. I think this will be a wild game. and I was a sophomore on that infamous fighting tiger team that had won 34 straight seoal games. and we rolled in the French city, and everywhere we looked it was ''34 AND NO MORE'' signs even in our locker room. I remember thinking I wondered if the refs made them signs themselves. but brian mink was a manchild that night for the blue boys. longest week of my life starting Monday right after school let out, lol

Wow! Didn’t realize Gallia Academy has a 11-3 record over Portsmouth in the 2000’s. Gallia Academy has always had a tough team even when they’re down they play you 4 quarters no quit. I don’t see any difference as Gallia Academy takes this one because of line play, blue devils has good line play on both sides of the ball. Also they will watch valley’s defense film and shadow Parker. Kalb is trying his best to balance the Portsmouth offense to take all the heat off Parker. Like I was saying line play favors blue devils and that’s where it will be won! Also tackling, Portsmouth needs to get that fixed and they can’t get it fixed in one week.
