Looked like a 34 yarder. Kid has a strong leg. Like to see him and Burg’s kicker Sammons in a kicking contest.

They should win out their league is weak this year! Not saying anything bad against Ironton but the league just can’t hold them back!! Ironton is too big, strong and physical for the OVC schools.
I wouldn't overlook Gallia!
Or Portsmouth. If they let Parker do what he did last year (300+ yds rushing, scored 5 TDs if I remember correctly), could be a long night for the Tigers.

Don't overlook the Blue Devils. They are not playing good enough yet to hang with Ironton, but any team with that much speed can find a way to beat you.

Yes that would be something to see. Both have about the same leg strength. What grade is ironton kicker in? I heard last week Sammons is a Sophomore

Yeah! Burg should have came out with Masters at QB and ran the offense they have ran the last two weeks.

I believe Burg is one team Ironton doesn’t want to see in the playoffs.
Hindsight is 20/20.

Not a bad thing to protect the young man from making his first start at Tank Stadium.

And now they have the chip on their shoulder edge...

True, but he’s going to play in bigger games then that and it made Burg very one dimensional!

Hopefully there is a rematch. They might have to play it at Peden in Athens like they did Ironton-Portsmouth in early 2000’s.

I’m not sure what grade he is in but Sammons is just a Sophomore. Strongest leg I’ve ever watched kick at the Burg. He doesn’t even use the tee to kick FG’s or XP’s.

Very hard hitting game. I liked Ironton in the wishbone.

Ironton is a different team with the players they had and the new players that came in to fill the holes up. Portsmouth defense is bad

Don't know these guys bests, but Toler at Gallia Academy, who is a soccer player, made one from 46 two weeks ago.

The Sammons kid hit one from 45 last week to tie the game up against Ashland and got drilled right after he kicked it.

He hit one from 41 tonight against Greenup Co.

Well he is a senior, and he's a good size young man. Sounds like the other two have more growing to do.

If there is a rematch, most likely it will be at Portsmouth Coliseum like it was a couple years ago.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Peden puts in for OHSAA playoff games anymore. I can't remember them hosting for awhile now. But it would be awesome to see the game there, for sure.

Yes they are young but size doesn’t matter if you have the leg. They both kick high not low too
