Final: Teays Valley 10 Logan 7

Post by loganlocos »

Logan will celebrate Hall of Fame night and will welcome back the Alumni Cheerleaders.

It will also be Mike Eddy's home debut.

Logan lost their 15th season opener in the last 18 seasons - the lone wins coming against Lancaster in 2008 and 2009 and over Athens in 2015. Losses came against New Lexington (2002), Westerville South (2003), Lancaster (2004-2014), Dublin Jerome (2016-2017), and Tri-Valley (2018-2019).

Teays Valley beat Chillicothe 14-0 in a game that featured EIGHT turnovers - six by Chillicothe and two by TV. TV Also had a bad punt snap act as a de facto turnover on their first offensive series.

Chillicothe threw FOUR interceptions and lost two fumbles.

Teays has won 5 out of 6 meetings since 2013 (first meeting). The last two seasons (35-7 and 35-0) have been very lopsided despite close halftime scores.

Teays has completely dominated this series.

Logan has not helped themselves by allowing the Vikings to get TDs from both special teams and on interception returns.

TV under Mark Weber aren't fancy. But they are very tough and disciplined in what they do. A lot like what Logan looked like under Dale Amyx. Hard nosed defense and a power running game.

QB is very good and they have a receiver (#7) who stands out on both sides of the ball. He caught both TD passes against Chilli. McDanel, the QB (#3) ran for 108 yards and threw for 111 on Friday night.

The defense was unbelievable last season - posting five shut outs and allowing only 5.4 points per game. They shut out Chilli to get their first goose egg last week.

Logan plays with attitude and plays hard at home but falls short 35-28. Coach is establishing that Tough Chieftain mindset.

The Chiefs can win this one if they take care of the mistakes etc.

... talked to both Garrett Mace and Nic Anderson ... both are trying to get back in the lineup for Friday's game ... Garrett went last night on the defensive side /said the ankle was sore today - he's a tough kid and wants out there so I look for GM to see action Friday night ... Nic suffered some bruised ribs last Friday night - looking to get some protection on the ribs and give it a go as well ... it's called TEAM ... sucking it up to go into battle with your teammates ... I wish them both the best getting back in uniform Friday night ...

10-7 Teays Valley. Absolute heartbreaker. Way to fight boys. Offensive line needs to step up if we are to get over the hump and get a W.

Don't like the loss, but playing tough is a very good thing. Still too many penalties in the 1st quarter that needs a cleaning. Other wise from that, quick improvement is really showing. Teays Valley is no push over and shows that the Chiefs are on a better course. It's coming. On to Ironmen country we go. GO CHIEFS!!!
